@kskate2 @Moxie @MargaretMcAleer Question? Who is the better player Maria Sakkari vs Sara Sorribes .. The Greek Chick or the noisy Spainard.. I would say Sakkari
On paper the Greek Goddess because her ranking is higher, but IMO the Spaniard has more upside, just like Ons. If either player ever really embraces their talent and works out the mental collapses in their game, both would be virtually unplayable.

I like Sakkari a lot, and also Jabeur. I haven't watched Sorribes Torme enough to judge, but you think she has more upside than Sakkari? And Jabeur, too? It's a large statement you make on them.

I have to say every time I have watched Sorribes Torme I have to 'mute' her....she needs to take it down a few notches,it is a complete turn off.

The Spaniard has more upside than Sakkari, but not more than Ons. Ons has more talent than the Greek and the Spaniard combined.

What is Emma doing? This match against the former Gavrilova is painful to watch.

Well I don't see her winning this. She's engaged Daria now and we know how feisty that girl is.

Both ladies had had issues,Daria cramping and Emma off court with trainer
Emma has her upper left leg strapped heavy

Emma retires, her left upper leg was heavily strapped which did not help her in the final set
In saying that she should have won against Aussie Daria Saville, in straight sets, who has been off the tour after achilles surgery for most of last year
Official reason for Emma's retirement left hip injury
Quite frankly I do not know what to make of Emma's form or lack of form since the USO last year.

The Latvian thunder - Ostapenko - continues her racecar mode after her win in Dubai last week, and is now in the quarters in the WTA 1000 event in Doha after consistent play.

Most assuredly she's having her sophomore slump. Remember what happened to Sloane. She went on a skid for months and then turned it around at MIA.

Another fine match in Doha with Ons Jabeur as the winner. She's in the form of her life and plays really well. Little down in second set but returned forcefully in the third

I pray she does not turn into female version of Delpo.
Apart from her injuries which has really stopped her being on top of her game.,she now has mental problems to contend with.
Remember a few years back when we all thought Bianca and Osaka would be the two top players vying for the GS titles? how things have changed with both of them.
