Playing tennis in Chicago is not as fluent as playing in Florida or Atlanta because of the weather. Fiero. you most likely played at McFetridge on the north side and Mid-Town tennis club. You had to cross paths with Katrina Adams with her good-looking self!

I might have, but most time spent in Hyde Park playing out South! In '76 I moved to a tennis community that had their own tennis assn., Oak Park (west of Chgo)! I worked with Katrina's aunt (AJ) though and she kept me informed when she was still just a teenager! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :ptennis::clap:

It appears the No 1 seed Sabalenka's serve has found its way to Dubai, winning in straight sets over M.Kostyuk 64 61

No 3 seed Paula Badosa was upset by Elena Ruse, who scored her first Top 10 win, in 3 sets.63 57 64

M.Vondrousova wins by retirement over D.Collins who retired due to 'dizziness' 26 30.

Defending champion Garbine Muguruza fights past Siniakova in a tough 3 setter.
That good serving egg hatched a little too soon as she's dismissed in straights by P3tra on a flurry of DFs. Remember, she doesn't play well as the top seed.

P3tra will always be a tough out for Saba. Though their games are similar, P3tra has a slight edge because she can tamper her errors and overall plays better on the big points.

Again, I think Maddy or Serena would love to get to a GS Semi or a Finals vs Saba

At least Ons Jabeur 8th seed ducks the carnage of the other Top seeds in Dubai and puts on a great display of tennis to defeat Jess Pegula 63 61!

Simona Halep had no trouble in her match against Ruse defeating her in straight sets 63 62

Kskate and Margaret... Is Ostapenko getting better or just flashes here and there?

I haven't seen any of her matches this week, but if it's anything like her previous years, then I agree w/ MM and it's flashes. I'll try to watch the SF tomorrow and will report back.

Jelena Ostapenko continued her great run in Dubai where she will play Veronica Kudermetova in the final.Jelena has defeated Kenin,Swiatek,Kvitova and Halep to make the final.
Ostapenko came from a set down to defeat Simona Halep 26 76(0) 60.
Veronica Kudermetova had a walkover to the final as Vondrousova withdrew due to a right adductor injury.

Osta fired up the ovens and dropped 2 bakery products on Simo. :bagel: It was like their RG encounter all over again where she was bossing Halep and the baseline. She was out of sorts in the first and some of the 2nd set, but she locked down in the TB and that decider and didn't make any errors. Really thrilling stuff from the RG 17 champion.

Halep needs to go and practice her serve ASAP,maybe she has caught the Sabalenka bug,I read she will have some coaching help from Patrick Mouratoglou Academy.
