Statement from the WTA 6 hours ago, (I just got home from work, sorry about the delay).

The local and national Colombian governments took measures to cancel all public and private sports events of more than 500 people,as well as impose international border closures and travel restrictions due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As such, the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota will not be held.Additionally, the WTA 125k in Guadalajara,Mexico has been cancelled.
We are disappointed these events can not be held, but the health and safety will always come first.

Yaroslava Shvedova was returning home to Kazakhstan to be with her one year old twins after Indian Wells was cancelled.Shvedova became the first player to be held in a 14 day mandatory quaratine after being on the same flight as a passenger traveling from Milan who tested positive. Not long after arrival I was placed in stationary quarantine like all passengers of that flight.

That is exactly the same time line that ATP announced. It took about 10 days for WTA to toe the line.

^ I did a post further up saying the WTA should follow the lead of the ATP and they eventually did,I do not understand why they waited quite frankly as the conronavirus has imploded especially in Europe, places like Spain and France.

Still waiting for an official statement from the WTA regarding the re-scheduling of Roland Garos, which was due today?

Meanwhile this brings up more headaches for the WTA and the impact it will have on tournaments from September 20 to October 4 which are all in Asia.

The WTA has four events beginning in the time frame September 20th to October 4th.Soeul,Korea,Guangzhou and Wuhan in China,Tokyo in Japan.October 5th there is a shared event in Beijing.

How will the re-scheduling of Roland Garos further affect these tournaments?.
