Wozniacki is recovering from a twisted ankle. New coach is D Kotyza, Petra's former coach.

Serena has a pretty tough but manageable draw in Rome. Kerber has a cakewalk and if she isn't in the Rome final well....

The Rome tournament gave Flavia a retirement sendoff last night. Serena and other notable ATP players were involved in the tribute

does anyone feel like Dinara Safina had a silent ban and decided to retire...it was really an abrupt stop,at that time she was playing without tiring.

Apparently she just had really bad back problems. Fairly believable imo.

Don't fill up this thread w/ speculations about doping. There is a thread for that in the General tennis forum.

It will be on Epix, the cable station. The autocorrect likes Epic, lol.

I've always believed that those two years Justine "retired" she was really on a silent band from the game because of PEDs. It was very abrupt and she asked that her name be removed from the ranking list. I believe that's one of the stipulations when one is given a silent band.

That is not true. Maria's name is still on the ranking charts. Marin Cilic's name was also on the ranking list.

But, Justine did quit when she was at #1 (and when her ambition of winning Wimbledon had not materialized) and so it sure does raise questions. On the other hand, she might have come back after a legitimate retirement, seeing that Kim was wiping away all the trophies despite being away from the game for child birth.

Justine was a great player with a stankass personality. I don't miss that player who had very questionable sportsmanship.
