I hope she gets help quickly. Her condition looks very serious. Anorexia has nothing to do with high IQ or lack thereof.

No but I think GSM is saying that she's too intelligent to be still bothered by his stupid throwaway remark...

You don't know what's driving this extreme behavior. His comments could just be the icing and not the cake. No one really knows what's she's been dealing with since she retired.

We will see sometimes when you have lived your life one way for so long i.e. tennis making a transition to a new life can be difficult add to that insulting comments and you have the recipe for extreme behavior. I doubt it helped when she made those comments about Serena and her injury and everyone jumped on her about violating a player's right to secrecy.

I have heard of People losing weight because of what they endured during a virus, but nothing to the extreme Maid Marion is claiming.

She does not want to admit she is suffering from anorexia. If she has an infection, that is a side effect of a depressed immune system, resulting from absence of food (protein). Her dad is a doctor. I wonder when he realized she is in trouble.

This is an interesting take. In reading about anorexia, a lot of people say it's about control. Maybe she lost some of that control when she quit tennis...no schedules to control etc. Only thing left is food and exercise. Plus some of those post-Wimbledon comments were terrible, not only commentators but regular folks. Really ugly.:s

I was surfing the tv channels yesterday and caught Wendy clowning pova about going to Harvard...so her publicist can get publicity anyway they can....she has fallen so low that she needs Wendy for publicity.
Wimbledon doesnt miss pova...

It looks like Serena is scheduled for Montreal, the Olympics and the US Open for her summer schedule which seems reasonable. Then the fall is Wuhan, Beijing and the WTA Finals. Good schedule for her, and I think she will do well and keep #1.

I don't think Serena more concerned about the #23 than the #1 at this stage in her career.

I agree. Serena likes being #1. She's often said over the years she likes seeing her name at the top of the rankings.

Laura Robson has used up all her PR entries. Now, she has to work her way up from the challenger circuit. Few years ago, I thought she will be a big tennis star and a marketable item  as well. It looks almost like the ship has sailed away from stardom for Laura.
