Oudin "probably" needs second heart procedure. Report from AP,March 12th.

In the latest health issue for Melanie Oudin the tennis pro says her heart problems have returned, pushing back the start to her season. She already had a heart procedure in November when she said in an interview with AP she had been experiencing occasional "episodes" of an accelerated heartbeat for more than a year, usually during-or right after-matches.In 2013,she was diagnosed with a muscle-damaging condition which may be caused by intense exertion.

In her posting on Twitter on Thursday,Oudin called her latest setback "very disappointing".She added:"But I know I'll get past this and become a better and stronger person for it."

"So I have some news to share with you guys," Oudin wrote."My heart episodes have come back and they will delay my start even more to the year.I will probably have to undergo another procedure, but for the time being I have to wear a heart moniter to keep track of things."

in recent times I've been on the lookout for the first player born in the 2000s..and last week or so it happened, around 1200 rank someone has rank points and was born (if I recall) on may 25th 2000.

Remember the days when someone with that age would now be about a year away from contending for grand slams? Sigh... I miss the teen phenoms.

CiCi is just about 5 or 6 months short of what you are looking for.

Miami Open says Serena plays first round on Friday. I doubt it. She needs to rest for clay season.

Serena will be there. That would be 8 days off in between her last match. Plenty of time to recover from her injury. If you listened to her presser on ESPN, she said she thought she just needed one more day and she would be good to play the SF.

Serena is being cautious and with good reason. There is no reason to exacerbate an injury and have to sit out a slam or two. She has to be careful injuries are easy to sustain and harder to get rid of with age. I think she would sooner sit out a minor tournament than miss a slam at this point in her career every slam opportunity counts.

Well, the Miami schedule indicates that the quarters and semis are scheduled back-to-back. If Serena reaches same, will her knee hold up? We'll see if that occurs.
