Didn't watch the match but I see Pironkova's back to her usual level of one or two good matches, and will probably have a decent showing at Wimbledon and poor everywhere else :nono A shame 'cos she was very good earlier this year.

Who does Serena play next?

I believe Serena plays the winner of the Coco American player v Sam Stosur match

Niceone. Thanks, fashionista.

No worries.I would have answered you earlier except I was eating my breakfast
A girl needs her strength you know to get through these matches:)

LOL, no prob :) I was chopping chicken it into little pieces 'cos I hadn't room for a plate (too many hard drives around my laptop here right now) so I could just munch away holding a plate while watching Serena's match :D

From the second set on, Garcia played some great tennis. She repeatedly body served Serena and came in on her shots. The young lady has game and a very good serve. For such a slight build, she can really unload on some of her shots. Hopefully she can string together several good tournaments and get her ranking up.

Serena was playing not to make errors, very often hitting shots that landed short giving Garcia plenty of put away opportunities.

Garcia played a very good much match, but, not a great match, because, if she'd played great, she probably would have won the match.

Now, as far as those harping about Serena's serve, did you ever take time to consider that she has probably limited her service practice due to the back issue which has existed since Beijing in October of last year?

Due time, more matches and it'll improve.

No need to freak out, remember Novak played four three-setters in winning Indian Wells.

This is actually exactly how it played out last year, like you said Calvy, she had a couple of close matches but always picked up when she was playing another top player.
That said, Stosur will probably face Serena, I don't think Coco will give much trouble to Sam. if that happens, Serena better pick it up, Samantha is no C. Garcia.

Masha just started against Lucie. This one is worth watching.

^ I had never seen Carolina Garcia play. She's only 20 and has lots of upside, not least of which a great 2nd serve, and a steady nerve. Serena was not at her best, but she gutted it out. I agree: no need to freak out. She knows she has to play better, and probably will.

I saw her play a couple of times in addition to live in person(against Monica Puig) in New Haven last year, she does have talent, but very little experience. Very good game face too.

Now,

I have seen lots of mini skirts in my life, Lucie's skirt is the shortest I have ever seen.
Both ladies have nice outfits, me thinks.

I don't mind the short skirt…it's a tennis dress, after all. But the mystery is: where does she hid the pocket for that second ball?

Luce always wears too short skirts. The IW outfit actually showed her cheeks (and I'm not referring to the ones on her face). Two other players w/ really short skirts are Li and Giorgi.

Masha takes the first set 6-4 by the margin of 2 points and 1 break, Lucie is not giving anything away, as usual.

Lucie breaks in the opening game of 2nd set, this lefty isn't going away easily, she never does.

And we go on! Sharapova blew that, but Safarova is brave.
