Goffin gets the comeback player of the year award. Nice. Well deserved.

Second set outcome was due to a much better serving by Kei and poorer serving by Nole.
In the third, Kei made more mistakes and serve again was poorer.
Yes, Nole lost a little his concentration in the second, but that happens usually with him, against a world class returner that is a kiss of death.
Anyways, the streak continues and Nole is yet in another final, deservedly.
The Samurai had an outstanding year, best so far establishing him as a top 5 player in the world.
Way to go for him.

That is well deserved. An injury sank his ranking down to 110 a year ago, then he came back not just back where he was, a Top 50 player, but he is now at #22, the 4th best ranked of the Under 25y age group.

I had to watch it on DVR-delay, so I'm a little late, but congrats to Djokovic. He's unbeatable indoors the last few years.

He did his mid-match walkabout, dropping the second set -- something he hasn't done in a while, but used to be a more prominent feature -- but quickly took control again in the third.

Anyone watching the doubles? The Bryan brothers are schooling the French team, even handing out the first bagel all week in doubles.

The Bryans won: 6-0, 6-3. :clap

I was hoping they would have a rematch with Kubot/Lindstedt in the final, but they lost to Dodig/Melo.

A Bryan/Bryan vs Dodig/Melo final it is, then.

This court and clay are about the only places Roger can hit a lot of 1st serves in a game and still get broken. Even an average returner like Stan is getting them back in play consistently and Stan is hitting very well right now, and cleaner than normal. I'd say it will be hard for him to keep this up.

Right. This may go three, but I still think Federer wins.

Ugh! I can't believe Roger messed that up on a second serve.

However, double break point.
