^ He is also playing pretty well here. He made short work of both Raonic and Kei while Murray has been looking so so. One set is all we need anyways. I think Murray goes home then. So they are playing for the 200 points and prizemoney only if Federer wins the first.

Roger is not tanking anything. He knows that Novak beating Berdy is all but a done deal based on current form and h2h, so he will want as many points as he can get to protect his number 2 seed deep into next year. Even if this weren't the case, Roger ain't tanking.

True. He will want those 200 points. I wonder though if he would if Berdy would have beaten Novak before this match.

If Murray wins, who is number 1 in the group? I would think Roger would want to be numero uno and meet Nole only in the final. Nole is not losing tomorrow.

Murray in straights: Murray

Murray in three: Federer

If Roger loses Nole secures #1 regardless of his match with Berdych tomorrow.

I don't think there is any question Nole wins tomorrow so Roger will want to win just to get #1 in his own group and get an easier semifinal vs. Wawrinka most likely.

You're right. Of course, if Fed loses it's a done deal.

Yup. 3 wins at the RR stage and its a done deal.

Presumably even a DC win for Fed can't close the gap?

Not even two.

Well, then I think that is fitting. Novak beat Roger in the best match of the year and deserves to be number one for a third time. Kudos to him. If I am not mistaken, that ties him with Nadal in terms of year end number one rankings, no? As for Roger, what can you say? It is tremendous what he has done this year and at his age with kids and all. Kudos to him as well.

Roger is first and foremost a winner. He loves winning. And if he can tune Murray he'll do it because of their rivalry. It's only us fanboys who think of number 1. Roger has been number 1 for longer than anyone else in history. It's a nice to have at this point. This isn't Andy Murray trying to scale the summit. He already has a chalet there..

I hope so. I think the conditions favour Roger anyways no?

I'm not so sure the conditions are that great for his game. These courts are so slow. I would rather say, Roger is simply a better player than Murray therefore he should win

From the limited action I've seen this is quicker than Paris yet seems to have a higher bounce (weird I know). Maybe I'm wrong? Either way it is not a great court for Roger. Fast and low for Roger and he is still beating everyone indoors...let's move this event back to Shanghai :p

^ Novak actually said in an interview that he would like to see the event somewhere outside London. So could be Shanghai since that's where the money is at. Rio was also mentioned. I think uncle Toni is having wet dreams about that one.

Cilic has body issues and if he withdraws Deliciano will get to play (and Grigor will have to repent even more for his decision).

At least the ladies will have a fun Friday night then :)

I'm not watching regardless.

It's funny with this match up I always start up nervous. I have to wait to see how Roger's hitting the ball for a few games before I can settle down. I've always been convinced that if Fed has his game head on there's only one outcome. I never feel that way about Novak and Rafa
