Don't think I've seen him play a more assertive service game... ever!

Yeah. It's like he just needed to get all those bad errors and sloppy play out and now he's finding the form.

I look at something like that and I'm convinced that Kei is a step above Ferrer. Of course he needs to prove it with results, but he has firepower that David simply doesn't have

For sure. Ferrer is much more a defensive player. Kei hits winners for a living.

I'm such a big fan. Amazingly I never really mind when he beats Roger. That says something!

Same here. Huge fan. He is so exciting to watch. Fantastic backhand. Going dtl all the time. How many winners has he hit? Like 20 in the first set alone and he lost that one.

I think Kei might be the next world no 1 outside the big 3.

And Kei wraps it up. Very well played by Kei. Too bad he didn't challenge that call at the end of the first set.

I would love that

So Federer is through.

If he tanks his match, he not only screws Kei (Andy goes through first), he gets to play Djokovic in all likelyhood. Will Federer do that just to ensure he has the odd chance to get Novak in the semis to play for YE1 (when Novak loses to Berdy, lol)?

He can play to that level. He was doing it to Nadal in Madrid, at Miami and the USO.

Is it now beyond question that a win over Berdych tomorrow makes any match with Federer irrelevant--meaning Nole secures number one with a victory tomorrow???

Well pressure is off anyways, as he is already qualified. I'll be rooting for the Fedster to take a set, its all I need.

Roger is first and foremost a winner. He loves winning. And if he can tune Murray he'll do it because of their rivalry. It's only us fanboys who think of number 1. Roger has been number 1 for longer than anyone else in history. It's a nice to have at this point. This isn't Andy Murray trying to scale the summit. He already has a chalet there..

Yup. 3 wins at the RR stage and its a done deal.

I hope so. I think the conditions favour Roger anyways no?

Presumably even a DC win for Fed can't close the gap?

Not even two.

I'm not so sure the conditions are that great for his game. These courts are so slow. I would rather say, Roger is simply a better player than Murray therefore he should win
