As it is a working day, they decided to put Murray in the evening as the locals might be
interested in seeing him.

On Thursday, Fed vs. Murray will obviously be in the evening.

The upshot of all this is that Kei gets all day matches (as he is from the land of the rising sun).

I don't think Kei cares when he plays. He appears to be the most uninterested of the top players when it comes to scheduling.
