It's a tenuous #2 that is very close to collapsing into itself! He must get back to this Wimbledon final, then defend those summer points! The last time I looked, even though his ranking is #2, looking at this year alone, he's more #6 and hasn't qualified for the WTF!

This is becoming bizarre. I don't like Fed and am defending him. You love Fed and are undermining him. He won Halle again. He made the finals of Rome. His best part of the year is on grass and hard courts, or did you forget that? :cover:nono

Nehmeth haven't you heard? Fiero's now a Djokovic supporter, not Federer. It was a surprise to all of us :snicker

I thought Fiero is a supporter of Stan at the moment (i.e., until Wimbledon results are available). :snicker

I'm being reserved in those results! Who did he beat? When we went overboard assuming the FO was Nole's to check off his "bucket list," it blew up in our face! Federer's still the GOAT, but this is NOLE's time and I won't favor Roger right now! I'm just being realistic and looking at the history of tennis; taking that all into consideration! :dodgy:

Poor Fed! Young, old or in-between, he can't catch a break! "Who did he beat?" always has the implication he didn't beat anyone of note - so according to some, he didn't beat anyone in 2004-2007; he didn't beat anyone in his mid-life period, and he still isn't beating anyone now his legs are creaking. You have to admit, he's got to be good to have won so many matches, held down the No. 1 spot for so many weeks, hold so many records - all the while some people apparently didn't notice anyone across the net from him in his matches :dodgy:

So it doesn't affect your thoughts concerning Federer's chances by winning Halle with "no one" there to really test him and going out early in a Masters 1000 event; Kyrgois in Madrid? Hmmmm! K; gotcha! :cover :puzzled :nono

Except for the fact that his 33-year old level is obviously not going to be the same as his 26 year old level, no it doesn't. He's won Wimbledon winning Halle and not winning Halle, and he's also gone into not having played Halle at all - none of which of course was the point of my comment. I was merely commenting on the strange phenomenon of the seemingly recurring question through all his stages "Who did he beat?"

BTW, did I miss a change of surface or something? going out early to Kyrgios in Madrid? Sorry, I thought we had left clay behind... and even if we hadn't, Rome final was after Madrid, no?

Boy, the London Women are getting worse than the real housewives of Atlanta as evidenced by what goes on at Boodles (see also the other video posted by Carol involving Koki)

Becker is becoming a real liability! I wonder if he'll still be on team Djokovic at the end of this season?

:cover :dodgy: Good job Boris. How much had you had to drink before the interview? Idiot.

I'll never be a fan of Stan! You never know what player will show up; world beater or 1st round loser! As for the seedings, what's the latest word? Will Kolhschreiber get moved in the draw from Nole's 1st round? :popcorn :eyepop :puzzled

And obviously you are still wrong. Federer is the legitimate #2 in the world even based on your more specific criteria of Slams and Masters 1000's.

It's a tenuous #2 that is very close to collapsing into itself! He must get back to this Wimbledon final, then defend those summer points! The last time I looked, even though his ranking is #2, looking at this year alone, he's more #6 and hasn't qualified for the WTF! :eyepop :nono  :dodgy:

Federer is #4 in the race right now. Also, no one has qualified other than Novak. It is too early in the season to qualify unless you are cleaning up everything like Novak.

Roger has more or less duplicated last year's results up until Wimbledon. Last year he had 2 MS finals and 2 titles but made the semis of AO, this year he had the early loss at AO but has 4 titles and 2 MS finals again.

Last year Wimbledon is where he started to have decent results though he didn't win anything real big.

You remind me of all the kids at primary school when you're about 10 years old and people only want to support the top teams and then when they start playing badly they straight away jump ship. No loyalty :p When Novak starts declining, who's next after you dump him ? :D

It will be my choice I would think; this being a free country and all! :ras: :cover  :dodgy:

It's no problem, just seems a bit harsh to dump supporting all your faves when a new, younger guy comes along is all ;) I like Novak too and don't slag him off the way you do poor old Wodge :p

My buddy Fiero is going for his own Career Slam of claiming all four: he's already gotten Roger and Novak, Murray will be next and when Rafa rises again, as he surely must :p, Fiero will leap aboard the Ralph-train and complete his set. Hard work, all this stuff... :popcorn  :dodgy: :snicker

Don't be nauseating! UGLY tennis is not something I can appreciate or support! Forget me EVER favoring either Murray or Nadal! :cover :nono :eyepop Just checked live rankings and there's been a swap in the top 10; Kei becomes #4 and Stan drops back to #5!

The ESPN experts have spoken . Not a single expert is picking Roger to win. Nine of 13 experts are picking Novak and 4 are picking Murray. For women, 11 of 13 are picking Serena and the remaining 2 are picking Kvitova. The most popular dark horse for Men is Kyrgios and for Women is Liscki.

Watching the 2014 final between Novak and Roger on the Tennis Channel. Looking forward to this year's matches to get underway. Whether or not anyone picks Roger to win, he took Halle again this year and will probably make it deep into the draw, if not the finals.

They're going with the obvious picks! I can't even see Kvitova making the final, much less defending her title! A lot of the DH's are insane; Gasquet, Baghdatis, Troicki? Are these people on drugs? :cover :puzzled :nono - See ya'll in the morning! :popcorn
