She looks much fitter than late last year when I saw her in New-Haven.

I just take one match at a time with Petra....though I must say I am liking the way she has played soo far in this tournament.

For me just as a tennis fan (sometimes fans can see what coaches cant becasue of a more distant look),
I think she overcame today her weakness and her fears and beat her demons. This win is HUGE for Angie. It will give her confidence. She just beat the hottest player on tour. She must feel she can beat anyone now!
So, for me today was a mental win and her problems were mental. Her tennis is good enough for me!
Caro became NO.1 with defensive style. No problems with that.

I think that Angie changed mentally, similar to what Simona did, but not to such extent.
She can lose matches (to Genie), but she is a better player now because she is better mentally.

It's certainly possible that the win today was kind of a mental breakthrough for her. She should at least be able to perform better in big matches than she did until now. I doubt she will ever be a consistent top 5-player, but she might continue to stay in the range from 6 to 10 where she is for two years now.

Her problem is that her counterpunching style is rather ineffective on the slower surfaces and especially on anything higher bouncing players who use a lot of topspin like Errani, Cornet and Suarez Navarro will always be tough match-ups for Kerber as she doesn't like dealing with high balls. And even on the faster surfaces she needs the top players to be at least a little off to beat them. Sharapova for sure wasn't bad today, but not at her best either and had she been a little bit better I doubt Kerber would have had the level required to win then in her.

Halep is a more complete player who has few holes in her game. Also she has a better serve, better technique on her groundstrokes and is more skilled in taking the ball early and changing direction. To me Kerber is more like a left handed Radwanska with more power but less touch, creativity and court sense, so overall a player with slightly less potential than Agnieszka.

I'm hoping for Halep to get this one now. I've liked her since I first saw her late last year in a tournament final where she beat Kvitova, I think it was in the run up to the US Open.

Most important match in Angie's life so far without a doubt, bigger than winning a WTA title.

Serena getting dizzy with it. Viral infection, or also called vertigo. She will be great in about two weeks. Until then she shouldnt walk alone or she may just fall on the street! Not joking. Needs to be careful on each move and not do any sharp moves with her body. Her balance system is damaged. I also went through this.
She couldnt catch the balls the ball boys were throwing at her
