Radwanska's out. :cry

She looked bad since Paris. She lost faith in herself. Lost her fire.

Makarova also defeated Radwanksa at the USO last year

Makarova deserved her win she played great grass court tennis.

True but still does not change the fact that Aga was SF here last year. She gave up in 2nd set.

^ I thought this match would be tricky for Aga,I was a bit disappointed with her efforts in the 2nd set.

Everyone went home to dry up but Flavia Pennetta, Samantha Stosur, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and Lucie Safarova are still playing on the hallowed turf of court 18 :D :clap
Its a good match I wouldnt mind seeing.

Opss.. few seconds later and its suspended. They probably couldnt see the... rain :D

If Lucie holds her nerve and keeps her focus she wins but its a big if. Lucie likes to choke in big matches. Makarova will play a bit with her nerves. Nothing as bad as you know who but she will still do it "just a bit".
Makarova is not a dirty player but she will try and stress Lucie. I know I would. ;) Its the QF, its not just a small event. I wont be dirty but I will try few little things to help Lucie lose herself.

I like Lucie a lot. One of the biggest underachievers in the WTA. I wont mind seeing her win a GS. She deserves it.

^ Actually I have met Lucie at a tournament a few years ago,she is delightful,I would be delighted if she could make it through the draw...she has been playing good, solid tennis so far in this tournament.

The poor people at Wimby are trying now to create some schedule. Good luck with that :D
If I was Simona I would have probably settled a tent in court 18, and then waited for my match around 9 pm tomorrow after the boys matches and the girls and the mixed doubles matches on court 18 have ended.
I hope someone brings her food and water to the tent.

She has what it takes and plays a very high level of tennis. The problem is that she cant hold it at the money time when the match is decided. She tends to choke. Her lose to screamer in Stuttgart in 3 tie breaks was unbelievable. A classic example of how she chokes.
She bageled the new Simona in Nurnberg 13, when Simona won her first title! Maybe the only player who beat Simona 6-0 in a set in the last year.

Interesting Fact,

Kvitova,Safarova and Zahlavova Strycova all winning,it's the first time in the Open Era that three Czech women have reached the q/finals of a Grand Slam together-any Grand Slam.

One of these women will reach their first slam SF. How exciting? Much like last year's Wimby, we have some newcomers to business end of a slam and a veteran who's been to slam finals (Kvitova).

^ Agree it is refreshing to see some newcomers playing well at the business end of a Grand Slam.
