Are you kidding me? The Shark takes out Federer for one of the biggest upsets in recent memory and goes out in the next round.

Federer must be kicking himself for losing that match.

Happens all the time. The shock would have been Stakhovsky winning today.
Agree with you tented.

Got any more days at SW19 scheduled in Mog?

I had a great day yesterday.
My son is coming over tomorrow so planning to get some ground passes to go with him.
Would have been more interested if Roger was still there.
Thanks britbox.

Perhaps not...Fed knows that he doesn't have Melzer's ROS.

They never advance, so it's not unexpected...

Great and efficient match from Murray. Congrats to Robredo for fighting until in the end.

Andy has played good this far..If he meets JJ in semis it will interesting, JJ has beaten him before, though it might not happen at wimbledon this year.

I really hope DP makes a deep run..after RF.. he is my next fav player.

and I hate Stakhovsky

I'm not a fan of Brad Gilbert, but today he made a very good observation. During the rain delay, Pam Shriver was interviewing the Stakhovsky and he was going on about his win against Fed.

Gilbert commented that it was a half hour before he was about to play the next match. Yesterday's win was just that, yesterday. And he should be focusing on the next guy he has to play.

It must make the loss doubly galling to see your opponent unable to advance.

In recent memory the only time a player got a big win in a slam and went all the way to the final was Soderling '09 and '10. He was the real deal. In master events Janowicz had a big win over Murray and made it all the way to meet Ferrer in the final of Paris last year. Generally though yeah, you could bet all your earthly possessions on guys scoring huge upsets losing miserably next match. Feel bad for them that most don't have the mental fortitude to do better.

This is a little different because of his ranking, but Berdych beat Roger at Wimbledon in 2010, and got to the final. But, yeah, he's not in the same category as Darcis or Stakhovsky.

Soderling wasn't ranked high in '09 before RG either I believe but was the following year so that equates to Berdych but yeah, it's a rarity for the lower ranked guys to score a huge upset and go all the way to the final. Janowicz is the only one in recent years that really springs to mind for me eventhough that wasn't a slam. But he beat some top ranked players to get to the final of Paris last year when his ranking was low and has since shot up. Wonder when we'll ever see it happen in a slam.

Soderling was ranked 25 going into theFrench in 2009, but he had been ranked even higher. He was no sap or unknown...

Yeah not saying he was unknown (he was always decent on clay and made me a mint years ago) but rather that he wasn't ranked that high when he beat Nadal at RG and he backed it up with win after win all the way to the final in super impressive fashion which rarely happens.

The more I look at that Sod incident I wonder, did he lose his marbles out there? He hit a backhand and then points to a mark on his forehand side. How did he think he'd get away with it? Was he gone mad? And then later in the vid the fecking eejit fluffs a smash that I'd swear he was aiming at Ralphy...

Yeah, that was not only sleasy and wrong by Soderling, it was also incredibly stupid. Even if the ump would have given him the point, he doesn't know there are camera's alongside the court? What a cheat.

Why are we bringing this up by the way?
