Did you see JJ hit the ball at Almagro at the net? Almagro could have made a put away if he wasn't shrieking and dodging like a scaredy-cat. What's up with the players these days?

McEnroe would have had it. Connors' Mommy used to make him come to the net and hit the ball right at him when he was a kid. These days, the players rarely hit at the guy at the net - like it's bad or something. Then when someone does they are terrified and then mad that someone dared to do that!!

Yeah, Almagro hit a half-hearted body shot at JJ, an apologetic one that was as ineffectual as it was surprising. Federer whipped a few at Stak, which didn't deter him but was a good move. I think it's a great tactic, it keeps a chap honest at the net, but of course, so few of them rush the net these days that even the old body-slammer is gone out of vogue.

By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if Almagro turns this one around...

If Almagro is going to turn this around, he's going to have to get a handle on Jerzy's serve. Long way back IMO.

That's true, but the only way back is a JJ brain cramp. Could happen, too...

It's possible, he is still very green at slams, but he has shown way more consistency and mental strength in big matches since reaching the top 50 than the other young guys.

Also it's nice having you here mate. I won't say maybe rafa should go out early more often though for your sake.

Cheers! ;)

High level stuff still by JJ. They're only playing 90 minutes, which seems bizarre. Nadal takes 90 minutes over the knockup...

Stakhovski's missus is going home... :nono  :nono

Haha. I debated on trying to find something I said on Tennis.com or Tennisdigital, about janowicz being a potential spoiler at Wimbledon.

 sadly, yes.

Do you really think Nicky's got a chance to get back into this match??

I think the odds are against it, given how strong JJ looks, but if he can sneak this set, I think the shape will change.

Having said that, it's now 15-40...

EDIT: No!

Hello, new to the site!

Haas at his presser
'You can't buy ATP Ranking points. If you could, then Gulbis would be #1 in the world'.

Rough....Do these two have bad blood?

Some bellow by JJ on match point. I think he started that grunt on the toss up.

Great performance, though. Strong all round - impressive and dangerous in this form...

Great match from Jerzy Janowicz! I hope we can get a Benoit Paire vs. Jerzy Janowicz Quarterfinal match-up!

Hey, welcome!

Siding with Gulbis on this fittie. The kid can't help it his dad is rich.

Starkhovsky does a Rosol and Haas through comfortably.

Are you kidding me? The Shark takes out Federer for one of the biggest upsets in recent memory and goes out in the next round.

Federer must be kicking himself for losing that match.

Happens all the time. The shock would have been Stakhovsky winning today.
