Rafa is officially in a free fall.

And is my info still correct that he intends to play clay events prior to the NA hardcourt season?

Nadal is considered mentally the strongest player ever, so I think he should be able to get out of this difficult situation.

Apparently not the mentally strongest ever or he wouldn't be in this position.

I don't usually defend Rafa, but let's not judge his career on one year let alone one match. For my money I'd say he and Sampras are the toughest players mentally that I've seen.
I do not quite agree there. At least Rafa tried to improve on grass, and he did improve, but Pete never seemed to try on clay.

post match interview - a bit surprised, i must say, how soft-spoken and thoughtful Brown seems. i've watched him a lot those past years, and with all his little quirks and superstitions, i must admit i would have expected a little more 'crazy'.

So bad Nehmeth. How long do you think it'll take him? Should we give him the rest of the eve to recover? :snicker

God forbid he takes more than a day... :nono

Poor Rafa keeps getting these sorts of draws here, well done by Brown

That is a good point. But at the end of the day I wouldn't say Sampras was bad on clay because he wasn't mentally tough enough, he just didn't have the game to break through.

At what point will they stop calling one of Ralf's early departures a "shocking exit"??
Agree. No more shocks here. It has been happening for 4 years now.

Mac is such a joke. He keeps trying to say Rafa is arguably the best player of all time :cover So what happens if at 33 Roger wins an 8th title. What does it take for the guy with the greater career to be considered the best? Stupid title anyway.. most successful makes more sense :nono

Yeah he quickly corrected himself from the greatest player of all time to one of the greatest.

This is so not fair to Roger...

? Did you have hopes for a Fed-Rafa semi? That would've taken a 4 round bye for Nadal

I am still hoping for a match against a sub par Nadal, where Roger might have a 50-50 chance on grass...never happening...:snicker

If they had played on the grass at Halle or 1st week of Wimbledon it'd have always been one sided and you wouldn't need a sub par Nadal.

Hey House!!

:wave

Hey buddy!

How you been? Shame what happened to your guy at the French, but he's on form. Favorite to win the next two slams in my opinion.

In hindsight, I could also put Federer on par with Sampras and Nadal when it comes to mental fortitude. Just that Federer has far more game than the other two, and played well on all surfaces.

I heard that too. I think John Mac does not say what he thinks, and he does not think on what he says.

Maybe he is enough smart to know that he has beaten one of the best players of the history but playing the worst :nono. And looking his good reaction I'm starting to be her fan from now :clap
