Well, I think it's more incomprehensible why Rafa is playing so bad these last years on grass including these last two on clay, like Mac says, something is really wrong on him
But it's ok, the world is not finished yet, his retractors are celebring his loss but sooner or later it will be our turn, trust me

What's wrong with him is that he doesn't move as fast and he isn't as good physically.

This has to be disturbing for Nadal fans. It appears he relinquishes his serve at the drop of a hat. Can't sustain the lead or any momentum whatsoever. It looks mental to me.

He should go see somebody if his confidence is really that shaken. Losing your RG crown followed by a loss to "dreddy" will only speed the sinking ship. :cover

He lost to him before and despite what the bookings would lead you to believe this was always a very tricky match. You sound surprised. You shouldn't be. Most who've followed Nadal on grass the last few years aren't. It's nothing mental. He's always had trouble against these kind of players on grass.

That all might be true Carol, but right now your boy is sinking fast and people can only deal in the reality at this time.

It isn't just this match. I've seen a couple other matches this year where he had the lead and just lost it on errors and sloppy play. That's why I think it's mental.

Still far from over, guys like Brown can blow this in a heartbeat and it would surprise no one.

But Darth someone has to take advantage of blown opportunity. Do you really think Nadal can do that on current form?

^Agreed DF. But at this point, Brown will have to have a bad service game. He's looking untouchable on serve. I've probably just jinxed him :snicker

Guys like Brown can blow it big time, even if Rafa doesn't do much. But it's looking ominous for Rafa, no question

More likely to happen closer to the end when victory is in sight. This guy is ranked in the 100's for a reason.

This is probably gonna be the game where Brown can't buy a first serve.

EDIT...or not.

Nadal is considered mentally the strongest player ever, so I think he should be able to get out of this difficult situation.

Apparently not the mentally strongest ever or he wouldn't be in this position.

When I think about it, I think it's probably more correct to say that he's the most mentally focussed player ever, or at least was

I don't usually defend Rafa, but let's not judge his career on one year let alone one match. For my money I'd say he and Sampras are the toughest players mentally that I've seen.

I can't say that Brown has not played well, he did but come on, Rafa just has played only well the second set, not before neither after. He can't get out of that deep hole where his confidence is, sad but true.
If he would lose playing well but his opponent even better is a diferent story but the way he is losing on HC, clay and grass is really incompressible and I don't see any improvement, I mean he executes a great shot and serve and two minutes later he makes a silly errors which his opponents are not going to waste, good for them to get so good opportunities at least for a while.
Now weating for the HC wher I don't know what expect anymore.......

Again, it isn't about one match. It's just hard to fathom that someone who's supposedly so strong mentally would ever have a crisis of confidence. They do the same thing on the women's side saying Sharapova is mentally the strongest player, but can't beat Serena for 11 years. :nono
