I don't usually defend Rafa, but let's not judge his career on one year let alone one match. For my money I'd say he and Sampras are the toughest players mentally that I've seen.

Again, it isn't about one match. It's just hard to fathom that someone who's supposedly so strong mentally would ever have a crisis of confidence. They do the same thing on the women's side saying Sharapova is mentally the strongest player, but can't beat Serena for 11 years. :nono

I know this is not a women thread but I think Serena is a lot stronger mentally and of course physically than anyone else including Shaparova

I completely agree with this. I rather think describing Rafa as mentally focussed makes more sense. Saying he's the mentally strongest is over egging it in my view. It's always been an issue for me. I have always considered Federer to be incredibly mentally strong, but sometimes lacking in focus. I have never seen a player able to dust himself off and get back into the fight after a loss. That's real mental strength

Brown hits the ball hard and has very good serve, very tricky opponent. I hope to see better FH and serve by Rafa and be able to pass that difficult test/match uzzled

Enough, ( not directed at you Miss Carol ) but all this talk and concerned over Dustin Brown is something that I will not try to comprehend. Last year at Halle, Rafa was physically spent from playing winning the RG championship. All due respect to DB but Rafa really was happy to show up and collect the appearance fee at Halle. Sure, he would have liked to advanced further but he really wasn't focused to play a player like Brown who didn't have anything to loose. No excuses but Rafa will defeat this guy in straight sets and I would be very surprised if he doesn't. Brown is a dangerous player on grass but he is playing one of the greatest tennis players of almost every generation, he will be ready to dispose of DB. Trust me .

the level of failure of this post is just awesome. I am happy Brown proved such posters wrong today clap:lolz::lolz:

To even believe one of the greatest tennis players of almost every generation would just go through the motions of 1 match for appearance fees shows how little his fans know him nono
That guy is a great competitor and wont throw away a match at all, if he would he would not be here
