Rafa is giving too many "free" points to Brown beating by himself, hope that changes radically

Brown's serve is really making the volley game work so well today, if Nadal could start returning better he could have more passing opportunities but its going to be a hard match for him right now.

Good last game by Rafa. Rafa's passing shots are beginning to click.

Brown needs to cut down on loose service games.

Rafa is starting to dip those shots in now. If Brown wants to keep going forward, he'll need to be smarter about when he does it. Problem is, is his baseline game good enough to create the opportunities?

Nadal definitely reading and returning Brown's serve better.

2 double faults in a row and an all around terrible game to gift Brown the break.

After a pentauple faults, Rafa throws in a weak serve and gets broken.

Hope Brown stops his loose games and cashes in this set.

Couple things:
Brown strikes me as a circa 2008 Monfils but less talented
Fed would have been off the court in 2 hours against this guy...because he would have figured it out by now...and I'm a Rafa fan.

Thought I'd check in on this before lunch. I see Nadal has the early break. Interesting. Maybe DB does need to cutback those dreads as Kirijax suggested. They have to be getting in his way. :dodgy:

It's like a Medusa thing going on back there. Has to weigh at least a couple of pounds.

Back from lunch. Has to weigh more than a couple. I'm thinking 4-5

He's going to use up all his emotional reserves and fade away at this rate
