British Men Watch: 6 were in MD.

Surprisingly only 2 lost in the first round. Four of them have made it to the second round.
Andy, Bedene, Ward and Broady.

anyone see federers match ?..I enjoyed it, good start from mr fedster. lots of confident serving, moving well, some class volleys, sneaking towards the net a fair bit.

as good as it gets in terms of getting off to a good start.

He does play Seppi, and that could be winnable for him.

I didn't see the end of Coric's match, but wasn't he having difficulties? Was he just tired or is he hurt? :puzzled :nono

They were mentioning he had some issues. They may have not been that serious, if he managed to push this match through.

Nobody mentioned of this longevity record. By stepping on court on Day 2, Roger has created yet another longevity record. This is his 63rd consecutive slam appearance. He is now in sole possession of this record overtaking Ai Sugiyama who had 62 consecutive appearance. If you restrict to Men alone, Roger was already in sole possession of this record.

I'd normally respect this record except it just makes me think "this guy has no life!" This kind of record is for some nobody who hasn't won anything IMO! It's great he has it, but "so what?" :nono  :cover

You see, If I did not post this message, you would have been erroneously thinking that Ai Sugiyama is the GOAT of tennis. Just wanted to correct your misconceptions. :laydownlaughing

Hey, a record is a record. It is not that easy to play for so long without missing some slam
due to injury or personal reasons. Just to differentiate from a more meaningful record only
I qualified it by saying "longevity" record.

What do you mean this guy has "no life". He is a tennis player and that is what they do, play in tennis tourneys and especially in Slams. If you think he is all work and no play, you would be completely wrong. Contrary to the general gripe of long calendars, they probably have more holidays than a John Doe has.

You can't compete forever! Heaven knows Navratilova's trying though! McEnroe's literally in his "silver years" and I see him on TV playing "Power Share" all the time! My mom says "he has no life!" :p :snicker  :dodgy:

^ They have enough money to do almost anything they want -- including doing nothing but reading paperbacks on a beach. That they're still playing this much tennis tells you this is the life they've chosen. To say "they have no life" completely misses the point.
