Who cares?
;)

Really; esp. if it's just another punching bag who doesn't have the smarts to see he's not going to win by hitting from the baseline! Bellucci is a reasonably able player, but his whacking away like this trying to out-perform Nadal is crazier than relentlessly attacking IMO! I'm sure even if Brown isn't playing well, he'll give Rafa more of a contest Thursday! :popcorn

Two British Wildcards sent home. Edmund lost to Dog and Klein lost to Seppi.

Bellucci is a good clay court player, but useless on grass.

Jack Sock was upset by Sam Groth. That was a tough draw, plus Sock got treated more than once by the doctors, including an injection in his knee, according to the commentators.

Didn't McEnroe say something about SOCK playing a doubles match before this singles? :nono :popcorn

...less than useless! He would be a candidate to drastically lower his seeding if he were ranked higher! Rafa looks like an idiot, jumping around like he just "won something" big! "It's the 1st round genius!" :cover

Hey Shawn!

Rafa had the opportunity to play someone where he could hit a lot of balls and was in no danger of losing. He did not look good out there, but adequate. Hit some really nice shots here and there, but also chunked a lot of balls. Had windows where his serve was hitting the spots and others where he was hitting double faults.

Rafa has played well, no worse than Novak and Federer. He has made a very good points and good foot work

,

I did not watch the whole match, but saw bits and pieces now and then. I just looked at the stats. It does not look good. Rafa had 5 double faults to 1 ace. First serve in less than 60% of tiem. First serve points won is only 65% Negative differential -2 (winners -ufe). More importantly even Belluci was able to break him twice.

For comparison, Brown had 16 Aces, (7 diferential ACes - DF), whopping 61 winners (+27 differential winner - UFE), 62% first serves in and 81% first serve points won. All this while playing a better opponent than Belluci.

At this rate, Dreadlock Brown should be able to take him out. :popcorn

Happy to see you say that because you've said the same thing after darn near every Rafa victory this year. I didn't see the match but the stats are flat out ugly. Nole was the only one of the 3 to play a decent player so getting through in straights tells us more about him than it does Roger or Rafa.

And happy to see that you are suffering for each victory of him. He has not playing a perfect game but no one has played too good yet ;)

Wafa hasn't made me suffer too much this year yet. His fans on the otherhand...I'm guessing they've suffered a bit.

Hopefully he will exit the stage early again here, it's become a bit of a tradition.
