My favorite top player is Nole, by far...but my favorite (current) player is Philipp Kohlschreiber - for a couple of reasons. One, he plays the style of tennis I love - I totally fell for him watching his epic "over 100-winners hit" 3rd round match against Andy Roddick at the 2008 Australian Open. I'm a sucker for one handed backhands, Kohli covers the court beautifully, and plays fantastic defense-to-offense style tennis. Then he sealed the deal when I got to meet him after a match at Indian Wells in 2008 (he beat Xavier Malisse) - Kohli took over 20 minutes to just sit and talk to us, and thanked us for rooting for him during the match. It was the best experience I have ever had with a pro athlete.

There's a separate thread to discuss Why You Dislike So-and-So.

If you wish to express those kinds of thoughts, do so there, not here. Keep this thread exclusively about why you like so-and-so, and use the other for everything else.

Thanks.

I like Philip Kohlscreiber for many of the reasons posted above by Moose. One of the reasons I dig him as a player is that he isn't one of the beasts in court; he's smaller and yet he fights with tremendous heart. He has a lovely game and hits some really fine shots. He holds his own against the elites and does not appear intimidated. I've always liked him and rooted for him. And yes, quite a fabulous one-handed backhand has he, which does help me like him even more.
