Here is the early poll/thread to talk about AO 2014

It's obvious Serena will be the heavy favorite but then....

Vika has won the last 2 years.

I will only list 4 ladies. I don't think anyone else has much of a chance but then that's why they play.

Will it be Serena?

Vika?

Maria?

Li?

Or someone else?

I have left an option open if you want to vote for someone else.

I'm going with Li Na, just to mix it up. She's made the finals 2 of the last 3 years, and, with a good draw, and a Serena upset (let's be honest,) she could do it.

I picked Serena. If she does not win, I hope Li will.

this a no brainer.. Maria dominates AO once more.

You need help.

Just to remind you of her domination last year as it was mighty stuff to behold. Actually it was the other way round in terms of domination.

This is Serena's to lose, but she won't. If on different sides of the draw, I think she'll meet Li NA in the final. Sorry Vika, just don't think you'll make it there a third time in a row. Can't wait for them to get started. Put it on em Serena!

Basically everything is Serena's to lose, right now. I wouldn't count Azarenka out of the final, at all. It will be interesting when the draw comes out to see where Li lands, and I expect Ivanovic and Jankovic to look tough. And Sharapova, of course.

Serena Williams will surely get/win her 6th. AO title and her 18th. major title to equal Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert's second place in the open era...

Maria is always dead-serious. She's hugely competitive. It's just a question of what she can do. It grows harder to take her chances seriously. Late rounds, yes…big wins, less likely.

She looked dead serious in Brisbane too but even with Serena serving like Sara Errani combined with the DFs of Sharapova she still lost in straight sets. It's gonna take more than her eyes to win the title I'm afraid.

My sincere hope, as a fan, is for Nike to invest in some better Slam outfits for Vika.

I kid.

Serena for the win, obviously. When she loses it she wants it more and what she wants she gets.

I must be one of the only people who doesn't want to see Li win (besides Serena). I really like Li as a person but I hate the idea of a player like Li's game being rewarded. She is a crap player for 75% of the year then suddenly makes an impact at a slam. I can't stand that kind of tennis.

Maria to me shouldn't even be in the conversation. Will she make it to the second week? Probably. Is there a chance in hell of her winning? No. Come on. Lets be real.

I don't think Vika will win for a third time. But I do think a loss here could drive her to finally win somewhere else.

I'm not kidding. Her outfits are horrible and unflattering for a young woman.

On the issue of winning, I agree Serena will be hyped for this. It's been 4 years since she won this title and I'm sure she wants another one. Barring some kind of injury, I don't see anyone stopping her from getting #18.

P.S. The only other place Vika can theoretically win would be USO right now. Her grass and clay game need to come together a little more before I would say she could be a contender.

We only get one vote. You could change yours. ;) Anyway, not exactly 'scientific,' now, is it?
