A real child of the late 70's and early 80's I see! Disco was officially done (over done) by early 80's, but was still popular in the dance clubs! I continued finding the best disco imports downtown! During that period I was in college and a member of Columbia Record Club and filled in the spaces in my collection during sale periods! I had all the formats; album, cassette, & 8-Track and still have them in a boxes upstairs with working players! I miss those days of "The DIVA;" Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Patty LaBelle, Barbra Streisand, & Whitney Houston! Then there were the boy Divas in Boy George, George Michael, Teddy Pendergrass, Rick James, & Sylvester! :yahoo: :partying-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I was just a little kid in the 70s (born in 1973), so wasn't aware of funk and disco at the time. I got into funk in my late teens, so early 90s. DJed for a bit in the late 90s.

Excelente post Fiero. Question..is it me or just like the Big three especially Rafa and almost Novak.. There's really hasn't been a super teenager male singer since the Big three, Michael, Prince and George Michael perfect singer voice..I feel so sad for my children who has to listen to this pure garbage of so called singers today with the exception of Bruno Mars who has really worked hard to find his way but not nearly the caliber of artist those three were. IMO

Fiero, while it appears I'm truly Methuselah compared to some around here (but still no grey hair to the chagrin of my friends) the The GAP Band was my go to Funk band , "You dropped the bomb on me" was my Krytonite. I simply could NOT stay sitting if that played at a club, party or bar if there was even one foot square dance space. Ditto my wife with "Funkytown" , which for Disco fans was the equivalent of the BORG: "resistance is futile"

"YDTBOM" & "Early In The Morning" I remember from that Gap Band era! Disco was so "out there" influencing things, "rockers" went fk'n nuts and blew up disco records at White Sox/Comiskey Park actually having to forfeit the game! Idiots back then and now! :thinking-face:

I'll see if I can figure it out, but here's a chart:

p.s. I like disco, but love funk.

@El Dude - this chart is starting to look like a Coronavirus infection graph. I'm beginning to think the hidden meaning indicates you are a shapeshifting lizard working for the New World Order. Just change your username to @El Illuminati. The cover is blown.

Nadal will win about 8 additional French Open titles in the 2020’s as well as a few other slams. Nadal will be even stronger after this whole coronavirus period. Nadal will carry tennis for the next decade on his shoulders. Nadal will not only be the player of the 2020’s but he will solidify himself as the greatest athlete of all-time in all of sports.
