I thought of this too, if Federer and Dimitrov should play in the final. I'd be rooting for the changing of the guard. Or the wresting away of the torch, I guess, rather than the passing of it. :snigger

The question is who do you root for if it is Djokovic and Federer...

That doesn't even need to be asked. Nadal fans see Novak as no threat in terms of getting to 17 or 18 slams but Roger getting one more would be a major kick up the hole

If Fed and Novak happen to make it to the dance and moxie is cheering for Novak?? Please send the EMT's to my house immediately.

She will be. Trust me. All Nadal fans will, even those who happen to like Federer too 'cos he'd still be only their 2nd favourite player and they don't want him to widen the gap in the GOAT race.

Yeah but it isn't that black and white. Part of Nadal's hopes to get to 18 or beyond is dependent on Nole staying weak on the big stage. And let's not kid ourselves, Djoker has been awful at the business end for the better part of 2 years now. One big win here could put Nole on a huge run again. I think that's what Moxie and the Rafanuts fear most.

I'd be happy enough with that outcome too

I'll take my chances and gladly see Roger hoist #8 and #18. Roger has yet to claim one of the 4 kingdoms (Melbourne, Paris, London, New York) as his own. He should have claimed London and New York years ago but he now has another chance for the biggest of them all. I do like Nole too and if it's not Roger I hope he will be the one winning on Sunday.

I definitely do not want to see Milos in the final. This is completely independent of the
fact that I am rooting for Fed in that semifinal. This will be my wish even if Milos plays
against almost anyone.

I would like Fed to win it all. If not, my second preference is for Grigor to take it.

Wow, I see much interpretation of my opinion. I was seconding El Dude's mentioning of the "poetic harmony" if Dimitrov were to play Federer for the Wimbledon title, and then made my pick between the two, as is my right. Grigor has been growing on me, especially his play on grass. I'm not ALL agenda…I do still have preferences beyond Nadal.

That said, I'll say, in terms of agenda, I would prefer anyone to win other than Roger, because of the Slams race. And no, I'm not worried about Djokovic going on a tear. I think he did that one year, but won't do it again. Partly because the competition from the undercard kids has improved.
