What is stan's ceiling?

I checked the pecking order as of now of the odd makers for who would be the favorite to win RG:

1. Nadal
2. Djokovic
3. Wawrinka
4. Federer
5. Ferrer
6. Murray
7. Berdych
8. Close call between Fognini and Tsonga.

I think this makes sense. By the way, Ndal and Djokovic are very close to each other, Wawrinka is a distant third.

Arguably all recent evidence points to the contrary, but nevertheless I would put Federer above Wawrinka.

I agree with Tented. I would put Federer above Wawrinka but I honestly can't see either winning RG. I'd be very surprised if Nadal doesn't win. The only player I could see having a realistic chance is Djokovic.

I don't see a non-slam winner taking the French Open.

I also am pretty convinced by Tented's argument in favor of Roger over Stan. He'll also being carrying the pressure of expectation through the next 2 tournaments, and into RG, as the winner of the first Slam of the year. Will be interesting how it sits with him, being so much more closely observed than he's used to. In any case, it does look like the top 4 seeds will almost certainly be Rafa, Nole (though they could switch 1 & 2 by then,) Stan and Roger. (Ferrer is close to Roger, but I don't know if he can make up the points to overtake.)

Stan has a ceiling only in indoor matches. In all outdoor matches, be it on clay, grass or
hard, Stan does not have any ceiling (and so does all other players).

I think that if Stan gets thru the first week at RG he'll be a threat. Definitely deserves his place in the odds. There's more chance of him getting knocked out early than Roger, Rafa or Nole,but once he's in the latter rounds his new belief will be a huge asset

Anyone think Stan s/b #1 in the world with a major, Master, and smaller event? That would still put Djokovic @ #2 w/ 2 Masters, Nadal @ #3 w/ a few smaller events, & Federer @ #4 w/ a 500 (Dubai) and Masters final! What part of the year is this possible? Not likely ever with Rafa and Nole w/ twice as many point! If only it were so easy! :angel:
