interesting. so he is a old hand at this.

I am starting to detect some excessive irrational exuberance on his part.

hopefully he is getting the message. too much of that is overbearing obviously. and it can prove to be a liability to the forum.

and if he is not getting the message, he is probably going to be introduced to some behavior modification methods.

Not mad....annoyed. Very minor. And I've never EVER criticized a person for being annoyed by something. Its bizarre. But....it takes all types, on the internet.

*****I am talking about this nadal2005rg character here:

I just got home. I am taking a quick look at some of his posts.

I had not been really reading much of anything he was posting here.

there is no question we have a case of somewhat reckless and excessive irrational exuberance.

he has to learn very rapidly to be sensitive to the feelings of other posters here.

he has had enough time here now to conform and to be a bit more normal.

^^at the very least nadal2005rg is a wind-up merchant of the highest order..:dodgy:

ho hum  i'd like to see a whole week of poasting without him/her not mentioning rafa though :snigger..

that's about as likely as that 'voyager 1' space probe doing a U-turn from 11 and a half billion miles away and coming back to earth. :puzzled

Don't let the facts get in the way of your personal attack.

I used Mozilla for a year.
Then one day, I found a new browser called TorBrowser. I used it for one day. Then I was banned.
I found out that TorBrowser actually changes your IP address to a select few. Unfortunately another user at Talk Tennis also used TorBrowser and received the same IP address as myself.
Because TorBrowser made us share an IP address, we were banned.
Pure bad luck, but those are the rules.

Your personal attack (which should be a bannable offense) makes no sense. If I was really a multiple account, I'd have been banned straight away....not after a year of posting.

Don't forget....I'm posting about tennis. A lot of you are posting personal attacks. Should I conform to your personal attacks?

If Uncle Toni was posting here, he'd be banned then-

"It is not too far way," Toni Nadal told The Australian after Nadal collected the 13th major of his career by mowing down Novak Djokovic in an electrifying final of the US Open.

"It is getting very, very close for Rafa to be level with Roger or more."

Yes, that's what the internet has come to. Personal attacks are allowed, but an opinion based on the number 18.....

I blame Samson for inviting him here...

I never knew anything about him.

I am inviting people everyday. I think that is the only way to grow. you never stop knocking on people`s doors.

I call it the ABS approach: Always Be Selling

some will work out and some will not. we never stop getting them here. lets just get them here and then we will try to work with them as much as possible.

if you have a problem with him than try to resolve it. we cant resolve it by attacking me. that is not cool.

and don't bring up my name again without a good reason. I am the last man you want to keep attacking for no bloody reason at all. remember that I can call your bluffs and your efforts to discredit me with misinformation and reckless lies.

and now you just took another cheap shot at me without knowing a damn thing about the situation. and guess who ends up looking bad? you.

why did you not bother to ask me if I knew this guy/girl?

I had never interacted with this poster. I had also never read any of his posts. and I do mean not a single post.

I go to different forums and try to invite people here in order to help this forum grow.

first we get the people here and then we try to treat them with some kindness and give them a little bit of room.

and then if they let us down, we start working on a solution.

I am just doing what I said I was going to do. I keep inviting anyone and everyone here. we will worry what about what they are like once we get them in the door.

I ask people on tennis related facebook pages and even twitter to give us a try. and then I also try to recruit folks from other forums.

It was a joke... I assure you.

As far as calling my bluffs go, I think you've got it the other way around mate... I'm not the one copy/pasting my posts off of Google searches, nor am I the one spreading horribly misguided information about Sampras, one-handed backhands, and pretty much everything else, why assuring people that "I'm never wrong." For someone who makes such grandiose claims, trust me, your bluff has been called a long time ago.

Actually, you're the one who's attacking people for not agreeing with your opinion, calling them detractors or racists (seriously, WTF?) because they don't think Nadal will win 18 slams.

As for the thread topic, I think that each slam final this season was a bit of an anti climax and could not quite live up to the prior build-up except for the FO final which was always going to end up as a dull formality. The Wimbledon final was very emotional and historic as we all wanted to see how Great Britain and Andy would react after the match point. That alone kept me on the edge of my seat.

The final in OZ was super entertaining for the first two sets but turned into kind of a stinker midway through the third till the end with Murray collapsing and Djokovic taking control and never looking back. The US Open final had two phenomenal sets of tennis, probably the two best of all slam finals this year. But the final as a whole was nowhere near as thrilling and great as some of the countless Nole-Rafa epics from the past. It was still enjoyable because it was the ultimate culmination of the season with the #1 and player of the year on the line. That fact alone made it thrilling.

Anyway, today on Friday the 13th, here's my
personal grand slam top 13 list of the season:

01. AO 2013: Djokovic - Wawrinka
02. WI 2013: Djokovic - Del Potro
03. FO 2013: Djokovic - Nadal
04. WI 2013: Murray - Verdasco
05. WI 2013: Federer - Stakhovsky
06. AO 2013: Federer - Tsonga
07. US 2013: Djokovic - Nadal
08. AO 2013: Federer - Murray
09. US 2013: Gasquet - Raonic
10. FO 2013: Gasquet - Wawrinka
11. US 2013: Djokovic - Wawrinka
12. FO 2013: Berdych - Monfils
13. FO 2013: Robredo - Monfils

As you can see, I was talking about tennis forums in general when I said "Some of the biggest Nadal-detractors in the world". There have been racial slurs directed at Nadal on MTF and ESPN (ESPN forums have since been eliminated btw). If a poster here wants to believe I'm talking about them, go for it. But I was talking generally.

By your own definition, then, there's no reason to bring that slime here. We don't "aspire" to be MTF, and there is a reason that ESPN, tennis.com and other forums have gone by the wayside. No reason to bring the bile from other threads here. We do aspire to a higher level of conversation than that. I'm sure that, once you get the idea that there's no need to be reactionary or aggressive here, you'll find the right tone.

...and, accept that not everyone has the same expectations for the man they root for, and more importantly, some people root *GASP* for a different player.

The fact remains, on the topic of Nadal winning 18+ slam titles, Broken Shoelace is a detractor. That is all I said, and that will remain all the way to #18.

I don't think he'll get 18 either. Wouldn't stop me thinking he's the greatest player of his era...

And John McEnroe just said Nadal would only need to win 15 slam titles to be greater than Federer. GOAT doesn't exist in my opinion, because its has no set criteria, and is too subjective. That's why I'm looking at the cold hard stat of #18 (or #17 in Federer's case).

Again, just because I disagree about him getting 18 doesn't mean I'm a detractor on that topic. Because I actually think it's legitimately possible, however, I'm skeptical given his history of injuries. That doesn't make me a detractor, not even about this topic. It just means that while I do think it's possible, I have my reservations.

And you accused me of being a fake fan, and said "I'm not convinced" when someone assured you that I'm a Nadal fan. So no, that is not "all you said."

Stop being so sensitive just because people disagree with you. I think it says something that you've only been here for less than a week, and already, you've gotten on everyone's nerves. This is not a personal attack mind you, but an observation. A piece of advice if you will. Lighten up and learn to accept differing opinions. You can debate them (that's why we're here), just try to be less annoying.

What is Mac talking about? How can he just pick an arbitrary number like 15? Why not 14? I certainly think Rafa will be on the shortlist, and may move to the top if he wins the Australian again to complete the double career grand slam (assuming Fed doesn't bag another French, which looks like a good bet). But, just picking 15 and announcing he is GOAT upon reaching it is asinine.

You are the sensitive one, taking offense when I said you were a detractor on the topic of Nadal surpassing Federer's record. Uncle Toni thinks Nadal can reach or surpass Federer's record. So do I. You said 14-16 slam titles. You are a detractor, and that's just the reality of the situation. No criticism, just reality. Detractor is not an offensive word. I couldn't care less if you agree or disagree regarding 18 slams. I said you were a detractor, and you got very upset and made a big deal out of it.
