Well, my 2 favourite players won 3 of them so I'm pretty happy.

Australian Open - Gutted as I think Andy could have won if he had played better in the semis.

French Open - with no Andy I was 100% behind Rafa but I would have been happy for Ferrer if he had won.

Wimbledon - my greatest sporting moment of all time. I cried all day. A very happy Murray fan and a proud Scot and Brit. If I could have picked only one slam for Andy it would have been this one.

US Open - Gutted to see Andy go out in the quarters and not defend his title. Would have loved a Murray v Nadal final. Happy for Rafa though.

looks like we have something in common.

ideally I would have liked to see andy take Oz this year to go along with that Wimbledon crown.

and my player snatches the other 2.

it is still a great year for andy. I don't think he is done yet.

that historic win at Wimbledon in straights over the game`s greatest player is an achievement of a lifetime.

I did not cry obviously but I was happy all day for andy, his family, and for great Britain.

great Britain had waited 77 long years for a moment like that one.

rafa and andy are my top 2 players on the tour.

Historic win alright but terrible final and terrible performance by Novak. To not win that final would have been the achievement of a lifetime since Novak was so damn poor that day.

Murray is definitely the best friend I've ever seen on the ATP. Its great that Nadal is friends with such an accommodating player. Murray has presented no major obstacle for Nadal since 2010 AO, and has done Nadal the courtesy of stopping Djokovic at 2012 USO and 2013 Wimbledon. The one thing missing from Murray's resume is to do Nadal the honor of beating Murray in a slam final. They've never met, due to Murray's failure to defeat Djokovic prior to the final. Let's hope that changes soon. Murray is almost the perfect friend.

They have not played each other in 2 years. Just what part of that fact are you failing to comprehend?

It's funny how you're quite happy to have a go at Nadal fans and label them detractors for not stating as fact that he will win 18+ majors and yet you're quite happy to be rude about other top players. In another thread you mentioned that you were annoyed to hear the media refer to Djokovic as the world #1. Novak has earned that #1 spot and until Nadal overtakes him in the rankings Novak is the #1 player in the world. I think he deserves a bit more respect.

Perhaps Murray could give Nadal the honour of beating him at say Wimbledon. Well, if Nadal were able make it past the first few rounds. You see it's quite easy to sneer at other players, even players as accomplished as Nadal. A player I like, respect and admire very much. The thing is it makes you appear rude and arrogant and it doesn't win you many friends. Perhaps in time you will realise that fact.

Some come to tennis forums to talk about tennis. Others are here to put random people down. Every forum has them.

I've always wished for Murray to meet Nadal in the final of every slam event. Of all the Nadal fans, I'm probably the biggest supporter of Murray.

You are being silly. Iona talks tennis and is a GREAT POSTER. Check your tone, your "compliment" of murray was backhanded at best. You said you like him because he looses to nadal. Do you really expect Murray fans to thank you? Plus, Djokovic did earn his number one ranking. Obviously Nadal will over take him in a few weeks (deservedly). If you wanna get annoyed about people expressing a fact, so be it, but Novak has a has had a great few years and overall been the most consistent. Nadal's recent string of consistency (along with great title wins) has earned him number one but ranking systems are an arbitrary system, so it won't take technical effect until a couple of weeks. Enjoy the fact that your player is doing well.

No, I actually come here to talk about tennis. I'm not here to put any poster down and I'm offended by that remark. I tried to give you a bit of friendly advice but you ignored it. If you continue to be rude and dismissive about players not named Rafa then you'll not win many friends on here. If you continue to use combative language then you'll win even less. Tennis discussions are supposed to be a bit of fun. All I'm suggesting is you modify your language just a tad. It's up to you. :)

Like CD, I think you have to give credit to Murray for coming focused and committed to that final. Yes, Novak was surprisingly lackluster, but Andy was not having any part of losing that one again, either, so that contributes. Murray was very fine that day, and it was a great moment in British sport.

No body has said you can't be mad. People are just saying it makes no sense. Be mad all you want.

Not mad....annoyed. Very minor. And I've never EVER criticized a person for being annoyed by something. Its bizarre. But....it takes all types, on the internet.

I just don't understand the need for it. Rafa fans should just enjoy the remarkable year that he's had so far. Why not look forward to the rest of the year and enjoy the fact that he will very soon be ranked the #1 player in the world. I see no reason to try and be dismissive of other players and their accomplishments. If any commentator had referred to Djokovic (during that match) as anything other than the world #1 it would have been an absolute disgrace.

Some posters clearly look for different things when joining a tennis forum. I'm not really sure what Nadal2005RG is looking for exactly.

I blame Samson for inviting him here...

I never knew anything about him.

I am inviting people everyday. I think that is the only way to grow. you never stop knocking on people`s doors.

I call it the ABS approach: Always Be Selling

some will work out and some will not. we never stop getting them here. lets just get them here and then we will try to work with them as much as possible.

if you have a problem with him than try to resolve it. we cant resolve it by attacking me. that is not cool.

and don't bring up my name again without a good reason. I am the last man you want to keep attacking for no bloody reason at all. remember that I can call your bluffs and your efforts to discredit me with misinformation and reckless lies.

and now you just took another cheap shot at me without knowing a damn thing about the situation. and guess who ends up looking bad? you.

why did you not bother to ask me if I knew this guy/girl?

I had never interacted with this poster. I had also never read any of his posts. and I do mean not a single post.

I go to different forums and try to invite people here in order to help this forum grow.

first we get the people here and then we try to treat them with some kindness and give them a little bit of room.

and then if they let us down, we start working on a solution.

I am just doing what I said I was going to do. I keep inviting anyone and everyone here. we will worry what about what they are like once we get them in the door.

I ask people on tennis related facebook pages and even twitter to give us a try. and then I also try to recruit folks from other forums.
