Well, let's not try and distort any of the facts here, as good as Wawrinka played. Previous to this meeting, Nadal was something like 13-0 against Stan, and the latter had not even taken a set in all of those matches. He definitely did well, tactically, in the first set and a bit, but that is only a small portion of an overall very, very one-sided matchup. Then again, this is Stan 2.0...

Never won a set but how quickly things can change. Fed had never lost to Davydenko or Blake or about a hundred others at this stage (insert unhappy smiley here) and suddenly they beat him. It's pretty incredible the winning records the big 4 (Nadal in particular) have over the lower ranked players and even the tier 2 near elites but they're bound to win a match eventually.

The blueprint is all about execution, not some paper gameplan locked in a vault.

Yup! So true and it's good to see some players managing the feat. It ain't easy to beat these guys as their records show over the years.

True. It'll be interesting to see how their inevitable matches in the future will pan out.

More than that it'll be interesting to see if Stan can maintain this form. The form of set 1 and up to 2-0 anyway. I'd rather never watch the rest ever again :D

I hope Stan will maintain his form, too. He considers clay to be one of his best surfaces, so I can see him causing some trouble during the European clay court season, particularly at Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome. And, of course, Roland Garros.

I don't expect Stan to win another GS title this year (let alone make a final) but a few Master 1000 titles would be great. Obviously, I'd love to be proven wrong.
