That is how you improve as a player. your losses, Jannik is young he will be okay
Yes, but not like that! Also, I think he will be okay but if he doesn’t start winning titles outside of Slams soon, this loss could be the reason.

Alcaraz has time to recover as well, we all said earlier this year the USO could be the surface he could win his first GS title as he now has the chance to do so.

Look I am disappointed , yes he had his chances, lets now get too down on him, he has one of the best coaches with a winning record in GS and taking players to No 1, I feel he will be okay

Wow the level. Highest quality match deserving of a final. Yeah the choking would hurt him, he literally started spraying the balls everywhere when he was about to win it. Thought he regrouped ok in the fifth, but again when he got up he started it again. Sad way to finish, and Carlos is simply amazing.

I know, this loss could be like RG21 or AO22 in which it could take a while to recover from.

Unless he starts winning titles in bunch (I doubt it though).

Like so many talented players, the problem with Sinner is not his tennis. Cahill will need to get Sinner to tighten the screws mentally in key moments. That’s what cost him.

Sinner is usually very composed on court mentally, so I feel that comment is a tad harsh, we can all be arm chair critics.

I'm with Margaret...he's got Cahill in his corner, and I think he'll come good sooner rather than later. He's just taking some time to come to full flower. He's still just 21. And what a match he played. He'll be "aight" as AP would say.

I wouldn’t say his tennis didn’t cost him. If he could rely on his serve, the mental aspect probably wouldn’t have been nearly as tough this match.

I agree. Sinner plays very mentally calm tennis. He didn't really blow it much. He's got work to do on that 2nd serve, but this was a tight match. It went 5 hours and 15 minutes. Someone had to lose. It's very harsh to say either one blew big moments at all. Yes, Sinner served for it, but there was another great player on the court. The future looks bright for both.

Long, emotional match. A thriller, for sure. Could be the match of the men's tournament. Good night, all!

That serve cost him throughout the match, first thing Cahill has to do in the off season is to work on it, maybe he is working on it now, though he needs to put on muscle and get to the gym as well

The reason I am more devastated than usual is because on how Sinner lost the match. Yes, his serve was a weakness and cost him the match, yes Alcaraz is a great player, yes, Sinner is a young man/player, but when you have an opportunity to beat a great player with MP on your own hand and you can’t convert MP, it blows.

See, I would be less “negative” if Alcaraz just blitzed Sinner in sets 4 and sets 5. At least I would say Sinner is not ready yet. This is different at least for now.

Alcaraz winning or losing the match wouldn’t change his trajectory at all. He will be a great player, I believe in that.

But for Sinner, losing like that way could take a toll on him mentally. Or it could stagnant his career growth.

At the very least, I am hoping this match will give Sinner some confidence to do well outside of Slams. Because he does need to do better outside of slams.

Lets see how he responds 'mentally' next match, he has a great team around him, I doubt they will let him get too down on himself
I still feel Jannik has a great attitude regarding tennis, his work ethic for one.

Remember this year he has had COVID and injuries I was proud of the way he play at Wimbledon this year, a surface he hasnt not done well on in the past, I mean he took 2 sets off Novak., I was proud of him on the grass this year.

I don’t have a problem with him losing two set lead to Djokovic at Wimbledon because you can argue that’s his 1st lesson at Slams.

But, this is different. Yes, it is another lesson, but it also a type of lesson that could held him back.

We won’t know until 2023 or later…
