Head to head is 4-3 for Marin. The last time they met was in Monte Carlo 2015, whee Cilic won

I am saying Jo gets it in four. He has more experience on this end of the tournament!

I am not really sure about this match, but I am under the impression that Tsonga is playing much, much better than Cilic this year.
However, I do know that whoever wins this one will just roll over for the other semifinalist and wet the bed. Literally :cover

Both of them were hampered by injury at the beginning of the season. Jo played subpar until RG, then he had an underwhelming Wimbledon, and now he seems in form again. So it is truly a rollercoaster for him. Cilic was not good either after coming back from injury, but he seems to pull it together here again, where he shocked the world last year.
I think this can go either way.

Jo in three.... no rhyme or reason other than I don't want to see Cough Drop win.

Tsonga in 5. But I can see it go either way.

Tsonga. Please. End this time-space anomaly called Cilic. I'd rather see a Tsonga-Djoko match than a Cilic-Djokovic match any day of the week.

Jo Wili is playing beautifully right now. I think it is him in 4.

As much as I would like to see Jo in the SF, I think Marin will get it done in 4 or 5 sets. :dodgy:

mhm, really can't call this one. Tsonga would surprise me a little bit more, but not by much, really.

Tsonga was impressive yesterday but it's looking like Cilic may have enlisted his mum for a bit of pre-slam shopping 'cos he appears to be back to playing very well again. Reckon Cilic wins this one in straight sets.

[split] US Open - Day 8 - Discussion (Men)

This is why I cannot get behind JWT. He is becoming out of nowhere an UFE machine. I hope Marin sends him to cool off in the locker room:rolleyes:
