The problem is as time goes along, she's forgotten! Her numbers don't mean anything to the tennis fans out there who favor Serena over Graf! Martina's numbers are out of sight, but she's rarely brought as the GOAT even with 167 singles and 177 doubles titles, & twice as many majors at 59! It's ridiculous! - https://fiero4251.blogspot.com/2016/11/fan-page-borgnavratilova-70s-90s.html -:astonished-face: :shushing-face: :fearful-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
That’s not Serena or Venus’ fault though that Martina doesn’t get recognized the way you feel she should, and you certainly don’t have to disparage their accomplishments in singles or doubles.

I certainly don't think Martina has been forgotten. When a kid like myself who is 14 years old knows about her and I don't know about many of the older players, but I do know about the likes of her and Chris Evert and John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors, Steffi Graf, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, and Monica Seles.

What would expect from that poster, he is not a fan of the Williams sisters, dosent even watch the current womens tour, and just lives in the bloody past.

Knowing their names only goes so far! Today, it's all about who's playing last instead of going back in history! I held onto Rod Laver as being the GOAT; giving him credit for tournaments missed due to separation of Am/Pro Tennis eras! Slowly I gave way to Sampras which wound up being an embarrassment as his records were eclipsed in less than a decade! Federer was head and shoulders above everyone early on, but 2 whipper-snappers came along and destoyed his records and legacy dropping him to #3 all time! I'd put him in 2nd since his record's more balanced than Rafa's, but the major's race is what they're counting more now as a definitive reason for someone being THE GOAT! :angry-face::astonished-face::shushing-face::fearful-face:

Of course I never got to see any of them play other than Federer, Rafa, and Djokovic and to me what they have all done has been amazing for the game of tennis. I don't know if there will ever be 3 players on the tour at that level at the same time ever again. Sure the stats are really important and the majors and slams are the most important, because they are the biggest challenges in the game. Everyone that can enter tries to enter making them the most difficult tournaments to win. So why not weigh them more then the other tournaments?

Tomorrow's match with Serena unless she is going to be on the tired side should be a bit easier for her than the last match. I still think Serena will need to come out strong and take the match by storm right out of the locker room. Winning the 1st set is the key for her.

I deleted that over here. I will respond on the men's side if the other member wants to take it over there. TBH I am watching the Rafa match and I am good with that.

I think you are right. They want that stadium rocking every night and if Serena is in it will be rocking. Can you imagine a Serena and Coco match up?
