So there's Serena's practice session for tomorrow. She'll get a chance to return some more serves and get to hit some volleys. She will need it going forward

And she is gone. She will drop about 1000 finalist points.

Samsonova continues to play really well and the Runner Up from last year is gone.

i don't know what she's talking about she still has an X on her back.
Don't be cynical...she does. Everyone knows it means something to beat Serena...even at 40.

I'm not being cynical. I'm not sure why she said that, maybe to take a little pressure off

All the seeds are falling on Serena's side. She still has Coco, Maddie, Garcia, Bea, Ons and a few others, but there is only one other slam champ on her side: Bebe

I still think tonight changed the narrative from: can Serena win first round? 2nd round? Now, she's in the conversation, and not just a swan song. Am I getting ahead of myself?

Other than the Serena & Venus doubles match, I am looking forward to seeing Jess Pegula play against a tough Sasnovich. I am also looking forward to seeing Iga versus Sloane.

With Serena I am taking it one match at a time. When the tournament started I just wanted her to win the first round match. Seeing her continue and go deeper into the tournament would be great but when she loses I know I will at least have been able to see the best female tennis player ever. In my lifetime I don't know or think there will be another like Serena. Not even Coco.

And Coco even says there will be no other Serena. She also said Serena isn't passing the torch, but taking it w/ her.
