Sorry to see Murray out, but very pleased to see FAA on top form. While something gets lost, something is gained.

I just looked at the Men's draw and FAA has real chance to reach his first ever Slam QF. He has to win next match first and he has a potential match against either RBA or his good friend Pospisil in the 4th round. If he shows composure like he did tonight, he will be in the US Open QF. He gotta win on Saturday first!

Felix's serve looked particularly impressive, 24 aces and not one breakpoint faced.

Not bad for someone who turned 20 last month.

Impressive.
6-2, 6-3, 6-4

FAA reaches his first 3rd round at the USO.

Felix "no mercies" Murray.

That's the way to beat the old guy! Don't even give Andy hope of a comeback! If FAA had played a couple loose games, he'd still be out there! I was concerned about the commentators complimenting the serving too much! Double faults can come out of nowhere; even Nole & Fed are susceptible!

Serving was a weakness for FAA, so that would be something he's improved.

That is actually a very interesting observation about how strange these events look at the moment. I think there is more uncertainty in the air because of the settings. That said, I don't think Djokovic is affected at all (if anything, the absence of the crowd in New York may help him a little bit). And I also don't think Nadal will be sluggish at Roland Garros. It was smart of him to just focus on the clay and get his rhythm for Rome and Roland Garros. He will be so locked in on getting #20 that I doubt you will see a let-up from him. But not having the normal crowd at Chatrier in a Djokovic-Nadal final would throw in a new dynamic that may play to Djokovic's advantage.

That might be reason Nadal under pressure and Djoker not. But i think also Nadal is missing too much of tennis season. These fellas from Masters, USO will be good prepared while Nadal is yet to see.

Interesting to note that 26 of 32 players in the 3rd round were born in the 90’s plus Auger-Aliassime. I don’t have any statistics but that feels like by far the most. Djokovic feels like a lone warrior. He of course will defeat them all but one can dream.

Something weird going on with the Zverev v. Mannarino match...potential that Mannarino has to default due to Covid? Much whispering going on amongst the commentators, and the stadium is empty...even of lines people.

Journalists are all over this at present...Mannarion was one of the 11 that was in contact with Paire, this match is one hour late?

Mischa Zverev just told Eurosport Germany that the players are awaiting a decision from the government of New York whether Mannarino can play or not because of the Paire incident? What the Hell

No one is acting like Mannarino has tested positive, but yes, more related to proximity to Paire...but then why has he been playing into the 3rd round? This is very confusing, but it does sound like it's going to be played.

Exactly my thoughts,Mannarino was allowed to play with restrictions, into the 3rd rd.
Why is this match one hour late then?

Shapo seemed to have 3rd set locked, but Fritz got him. Kooky set. This one really looks like it'll be a long 5-setter.
