Thiem kept trying to give him that break and finally Marin took it.

Just like that, Cilic breaks Thiem's serve and he is up a break in the 3rd set 4-2

One thing I do not like Thiem especially on hardcourt is that he often has low 1st serve percentage. He is only hitting 29/57 (51%) first serve which is not great at all. Against a great returner, he will get broken a lot.

He was coasting with that on Cilic's poor play. Caught up with him. I hope you didn't jinx him! I can't deal with being up late with another 5-set turnaround match.

OMG, a few minutes back, they showed a cat wandering the grounds, since there are no people. Now they just showed 2 raccoons heading into the buildings. The wildlife has definitely taken over in NYC in the lockdown. (Raccoons are bad news, too.)

To be fair, Moxie: This match is only 1 hour and 40 minutes long...so far. You have time to drink some wine...

I was hoping we'd finish with this and watch a film, is my issue.

Thiem has turned the tide back his way: tough hold, gets the break, then consolidates nicely. One game away.

Good for Thiem for not allowing this match longer than it should be. Now, a match with Felix Auger-Aliassime should be entertaining to say the least. It will be their first ever meeting too. I hope it lives up to the hype!

I pick Thiem in four competitive sets.

For me, FAA has to serve well in order to have a chance against Thiem. With the way Thiem is returning serve (very far back), FAA has to serve big and efficiently. Also, FAA has to defend against Thiem because Thiem will definitely try to overpower FAA around the court. The most interesting pattern will be the backhand to backhand cross-court exchange. FAA's backhand is very solid so we will see if he can handle Thiem's backhand.

De Minaur's is a whisper of a Hitler. Alex, if you can't grow a mustache, don't try, and certainly don't try that one.
Reminds me of the episode in Curb Your Enthusiasm when Larry David says how Hitler ruined it for all other guys who ever wanted to grow that kind of mustache Great show btw, I'm a big fan.

For me, it's more the wistful sadness of the 19th C. Romantic Russian military man. It's not exactly this, but it's close:

You have not been in Russia. This cant be Russian face, they are more blond/white. This is kinda "Napoleon" after loosing the battle ;).

I am worried with that "medical test" for Covid. They just say you cant play because off "blabla". But OK than you can play. Luckily Nole is off for that, unless his team get some. Nadal is in dangerous for RG. But Nole could send team home.
