Matches have begun! Let me turn on ESPN … wait … nope, they’re showing a chat show. Let me try ESPN2 … nope, another chat show. Well, they were showing the qualification matches on ESPNews the other day, let me try that … no, still no US Open. They must have allowed the Tennis Channel to show them since they aren’t … nope, they’re showing the 2009 women’s Wimbledon final. :face-with-symbols-on-mouth:
Trying to understand which american TV channel is broadcasting slams is like trying to figure out how the particle collider in Switzerland is working. I often bump into the american tv channels when streaming slams and it does seem like matches are broadcasted from different TV houses even when it is a same slam. Also experienced like you, bumping into some final which was 10 years ago and I'm like wtf I want live tennis.

In europe is simple. You have Eurosport with Barbara Schett and (delusional) Mats Wilander hosting the slam for 2 weeks and it's tennis full day, every day for 2 weeks on 2 eurosport channels. They also don't give priority to any nation, they switch where is good action and off course also stick with big courts as usual.

Here in the United States all of the tennis tournaments are broadcast on the Tennis Channel (Tennis Plus) except for certain Slams like the US Open, Australian Open, Wimbledon are on ESPN channels and the French Open is on the Tennis Channel, NBC/Peacock. Basically everything here in America is going to these streaming channels or premium channels like Tennis Plus or ESPN Plus, Peacock. I am lucky because I begged my parents to get Tennis Plus which carries every tournament and every match from every tournament other than the Slams I just said. I also have ESPN Plus which came with Disney Plus & Hulu so I am covered there. So I can watch pretty much everything other than what is shown on Peacock which is usually shown on the Tennis Channel/ Tennis Plus during the French Open. It is really a complicated mess here though.

I had Agut winning and then winning his next match. Then I had him losing to Nick Kyrgios.
Agut has had some injury concerns of late, though I thought he could win that match against Wolf, Agut is good on a HC

Agut? not really, I have seen him play better.Anyway a good win for the young American WC JJ Wolf, great confidence booster
Something I didn't predict for sure. Actually I am out of the gate on the men's side with a bang. Lost with RBA and also Yoshi.

0-3 now on the men's side as I had Majchrzak to win.

There are usually upsets both on the men and the women on the 1st day of play, dont worry it will probably even out later
