Again, I didn't get to watch any tennis all day, so I didn't see why Dimitrov lost in straights. And Rublev is a comer. Who saw the match? But one does lose any faith in Dimitrov. Everyone thought he had a shot at Rafa.

I didn't see it but was following the scores. Dimitrov served for the first set at 5-3 and was up 4-2 in the second and lost both. Injury or not that's pathetic. Fed ain't going to be in the semi and clearly Rafa isn't playing well either, serious opportunity missed for Grigor and I doubt he will ever have another one quite like this.

Mr Varinec plays with fire.....no good for his old back

You'll be happy soon, the old man will be booted by Feli Lopez of all players. And if Rafa wins this tournament maybe Fed will be smart for a change and call it a season.

Only if Rafa wins the tournament otherwise Fed could still track him down for #1 in the Fall if healthy. But the #1 is the main reason for him to play at all in the Fall maybe aside from YEC as it'd be nice to push his lead over Nole to 2 there.

Good grief you're dumb. You don't see a parallel? Roger pulled out of Cincy for a reason. Grow some brain cells, you're making my point but you're not smart enough to see it

I bet part of the reason for this anger of yours are my recent posts.

I don't understand some thoughts, if they play every GS and the MS then it's too much but if they skip at least one GS and one MS then they are not playing enough and they are rusty

Then she/he should respond you and not to me, but it's ok I can handle it even it was a little bit unpleasant

As you're clearly referring to Roger, it's mostly injury over rust. Anyone can see that. Roger skipped all of clay season and Cinci and is still injured. It happens. Rust doesn't make you unable to bend for low balls, leave others fly past you without trying to return them when they're not far away and serve 100mph first serves. This is down to injury.

I understand they can't play well and win every time, I understand that they can be surprised by an opponent who has the best day of his life, I understand if they play a very competitive and tied match then someone has to win or to lose but what I CAN'T undertand to start a match playing so passive, the return in "Buffalo" and being so erratic and much less being enough rested and playing with a kid who doesn't have even a good record in HC
Hopefully Rafa and team is reviewing the tape broadcast , McEnroe via the brilliant analytics clearly pointed out

#16 is all that Rafa is seeking, the end of the year number #1 ranking is not the desire GOAL

"He" responded to your comments because they were silly and biased. The kid is not relevant, and is just upset with me. I'm willing to acknowledge Rafa's greatness, it would be silly not to. I just get tired of your constant sniping about Federer. You look at everything through the prism of Rafa, which get's a bit tiresome. You should be able to watch tennis objectively and contribute opinions accordingly. I get the distinct impression that when Rafa's gone you'll disappear. Guys like me have been watching tennis for the last 30 years. It's about the sport, not the player. Perhaps you'll learn one day..

Cilic in trouble. If he goes down who the hell is left over there? Should we be bracing ourselves for Isner, Querrey, or possibly Shap to make the finals?

Cilic has been broken 109 times by the munchkin. Slow as hell conditions as they said...trying to roll out the red carpet for a certain someone just like Wimbledon

It would be fun if Shap wins the tourney. However, Shap has lost the first set already. Let us see whether he can come back. Hopefully he will.

Here are the latest odds of winning USO after the first two rounds are over. Everyone with a 1% chance or better is listed below.

1. Rafa 7/4 (36%)
2. Roger 12/5 (29%)
3. Cilic 8
4. JMDP / Thiem 20
5. Isner 25
6. Uncle Sam / NKITB 28
8. Kevin Anderson 40
9. Lucas Pouille 50
10. Coric / Monfils / Kyle / RBA 66
14. Rublev / PCB 100

Most important change is Rafa moving to top spot relegating Roger.

Shap rights the Ship by breaking in 2nd set. Hope he can turn it around and win.

This tourney is crazy. With lemon drops exit, Uncle Sam is the only player on this half of the draw to be in a slam SF.

I can't believe that you have watched tennis for so many years because you have not learn anything
If it bothers you when I say that if Federer is injurded he should take more time off instead of to play badly and to make worse the injury then you show that you have not any idea about I juries and the consequences besides to be too susceptible to any comment which doesn't go with your ideas, grow up!!!!!
Keep going.......
