Here is where those of us who can't stand Roger for this exact thing divide from those of you fans, in a large way: You lot always say that the arrogant things, or ungenerous things that he says about opponents are, well, "honest." And there has been, over the years, a lot of those folks sneering at Nadal for "false modesty." Overall, I'd prefer a player to give credit to the opponent's effort, and not be so convinced that it's all on his racquet. If it's seems a bit falsely modest, I'd prefer it. Let the sportswriters heap the praise later.
