Good strategy by medvedev, playing defensive tennis, at times dinking... making djokovic go for it, knowing he is under pressure. He’s serving well too and when djoker least expects it, hitting a hard groundstroke.

this is a completely different matchup than berretini and zverev, who were hitting big... medvedev is like baiting djokovic...

I thought you said that Medvedev has a terrible match-up against Novak?

I have been working and only been watching on mute, so no sense of the fine points. I see Dani is playing great, and serving great. How much you think is nerves for Djokovic? Pressure makes the legs heavy.

That's all he needs because Novak doesn't look like breaking anytime soon! He's desperate S & V here trying to stay in it!

I think Novak expected some things will be given to him, you know a break here a break there so the match goes the distance, but Medvedev is not giving anything, because he knows if he gives something it could turn things around. Similar to how Novak lost to Rafa in RG last year, or how he beat Rafa in AO and Medvedev in AO. It's fine margings between a match and demolition. Once he was down a break in 2nd after not converting BPs, that was it and legs become heavy, confidence goes down and match is finished.
