Why can't he put it together? Poor shot selection, poor serving today (yesterday here now) and often pretty damn poor tennis iq.

those two poor drop attempts had me shaking my head. he played so well to montreal. i was hoping he would repeat here. sighsss. Rafa I miss you.

Missed that argument between them there as my stream froze but I gather Robredo wasn't happy that Stan challenged as he thought it was a late challenge? Commentator here quite rightly pointed out that Del Potro challenges the next day.

Well not winning a single set shows just how poorly he played at times. Up a break in set 2 only to lose it and a break in set 3 with a point for a double break and he meekly gives it all back. He should be disgusted to not have at least won a set. Those drop shots were terrible alright. When he starts slicing like a butcher it maddens me as well as it's just not his style of play. He should be bludgeoning the ball non stop. All his big wins have come this way and not by trying to do flashy stuff he's not accomplished at. The poor serving was his biggest downfall.

Well, so much for Robredo winning! Really great play by Stan that game.

Why would T-Rob get Stan going like that? All he did was poke the sleeping bear. Silly rabbit.

When Stan plays with confidence like this, he is an altogether different (stan)imal...

Yeah, haven't seen him play like that since the first set of the AO final.

Pretty awesome display there in set 4 by Stan. Was expecting Robredo to win but Stan was far too good at the end. Losing the 3rd set TB screwed Robredo. Didn't think it would be then again, if he'd won it and even if Stan had won set 4, we'd still have had a 5th set.

This one is over and less than friendly handshake at the net. Stan moves on to the QF

No kidding...last set was epic. He has caused a lot of problems for both Nole and Murray in the past when he played like this. Of course there is the issue of going through Milos/Kei, but if we judge him by the 4th. set today, he has a nice chance...

Not gonna bother staying up for the next match but hoping Nishikori wins. Considering he questioned being fit enough before it started and only made the decision to play at the last minute, he's doing pretty darn well.
