I'm definitely not seeing the same match Broken. The forehand is good and everything else is ghastly.

1) Tommy guesses the direction of Fed's volley perfectly
2) Tommy plays an unbelievable curveball passing shot

*3) Tommy falls apart and hands back the break.

What a shot from Robredo! I'm happy for him to make a good showing here, but I really want the R & R QF, so don't be TOO good, Tommy!

i can still see why Broken got to the assessment... for a moment, he looked like he did in the earlier rounds. and now again, there's flashes of great play. but very very patchy today.

Its painful to see Roger exchanging breaks with someone he used to beat so handily in the past. The end is nigh for Great One!!

oh, don't be such a pessimist all the time. yeah, he seemed to be having a completely off day at the net (and partly elsewhere) today, but he also showed some pretty good hands in ths tournamet so far.

Usually when his forehand is good the rest of his game is there too, that's not the case today.

The hands aren't the problem, the decision making and coming in on garbage is the issue,
like this now

Excellent tiebreak from Robredo. However, Roger better win this match!

The thing with us Roger fans is that we have been spoiled with the high standards he has reached over the years, so it becomes hard to watch him missing routine forehands. And he loses the first set.

I agree...he has looked oddly indecisive at times, and got caught in the middle, at least once, critically.

Fed is not awful at net. The problem is he is coming in after poor approach shots
or poor serve and getting passed.

Approach shots and deciding when to come in are parts of net play. Roger's volleys have always been great.

Ferrer made some tired looking errors and dropped serve. Tipsy serving for the 2nd.
