Which is why I am against the doubles. She went far and played 3 straight weeks in the lead up tournaments.

Yeah count me in the camp of those who thinks she should quit playing doubles at slams till retiring from singles. She's no spring chicken.

Vava played a good match and proved to be a good opponent for Serena at this stage in the tournament. Serena had to stay focused and more importantly she had to play and make adjustments for both her opponent and the wind. Hopefully getting over the hump of making it to the second week of a major will allow her to relax and really drive the ball through the court. Commies to Vava, she played a solid match.
