Serena's barely moving and completely out of breath.

Which is why I am against the doubles. She went far and played 3 straight weeks in the lead up tournaments.

Yeah count me in the camp of those who thinks she should quit playing doubles at slams till retiring from singles. She's no spring chicken.

^is Kaia having a resurgence or just a good week?

Well to be fair Sam should have won against Kaia,Sam choked

Kaia is one of those players, that can play great one day and go out the next day

I can never predict what she will do in a match

Descent showing from Kaia, kinda horrible performance by Carla.
Kanepi is Serena's next opponent, finally she gets a Non-American opponent after defeating 3 straight Americans.

The important thing is Serena avoided the upset. She will have to lower the unforced error count though!

Thats cool but if you want Serena to LOSE today then just say so.

I will try and keep quiet and let you all go on with your calm life.
After all I can also be banned anytime, its just life, thats how it goes with humans.

I most certainly wanted Serena to lose today... and every day she picks up a racquet. :snigger

SSS, you trying to keep quiet is the same as trying to muzzle a toddler.

Vava played a good match and proved to be a good opponent for Serena at this stage in the tournament. Serena had to stay focused and more importantly she had to play and make adjustments for both her opponent and the wind. Hopefully getting over the hump of making it to the second week of a major will allow her to relax and really drive the ball through the court. Commies to Vava, she played a solid match.

She is hitting the ball with authority. Seems like Genie is back after all, probably smelling the opportunity. She may be destined for another slam semi appearance.
