After the WTA made IW one of the mandatory premiers, still Serena does not
play there. We know the story of why. Can any one tell me as to what
consequences she suffers for not playing in IW other than just getting a 0
pts in a mandatory tourney. Looks like she is getting away with almost
no consequence. Can somebody explain to me the list of other consequences,
if any.

I don't think you are going to see Serena at her best in doubles until the later rounds if they make it that far. I think Venus is going to have to carry the early rounds if she wants hardware. I think Serena has singles on the brain. She also has a lot of tennis to play in a short period of time, and it may only get worse if any more weather delays.
