Here is your one-stop thread to discuss upsets. I am not going to bother to define what qualifies as an upset. Just use your judgement. You can predict upsets before they happen, discuss it while it is brewing and relish it after it is done. However, the main purpose is to alert other people to watch it as an upset is potentially brewing. So, in that sense this is somewhat like NFL Red Zone channel.

I already see four upsets. The highest being #7 seed and Serena's CGS destroyer Vinci.
Sarah Errani is gone too. Amazingly she went out to Pironkova who plays well only in grass season.
Pliskova (the seeded one) is gone too. Ostapenko, a dark horse for some experts, is gone as well.

I did not see any match today. It looks like we had four upsets today. Kerber, Azrenka, Jelana Jankovic and Konta.

Three days are over and three of top 8 seeds are gone.

On day 4, I think the only upset is that of Makarova. Once a top 10 player she may very soon become unseeded player.

The first two rounds are now over. Of the 32 ladies who were supposed to reach the 3rd round, 21 of them made it (that works out to about 65% success rate). It is not very far from what happened in the Men's field, which had a success rate of 70% (just one more seed made it there). Some interesting unseeded players to make it to the third round are Cornet, Osaka, Kiki Bertens and Pironkova.

Once was a very consistent player. Ever since she returned from injury she hasn't been the same. Wondering if she can reach those heights again.
