With Tsonga's retirement, Gasquet is now the only local singles player. I don't know how the local crowd is paying for tickets and watching. No big names, No local players.

Of the 16 players who were supposed to reach the R16, 12 of them (success rate of 75%) made it there. That is quite good. All those who missed out are due to injuries: Rafa (Wrist), Tsonga (Leg), Cilic (Coughing) and Simon (Brain).

How have we survived the last generation here in the States with the USO? It's been owned by the Europeans for years with just one lucky win by Roddick well over 10 years ago; still looking for his MO! :nono  :dodgy: :snicker :laydownlaughing

Cilic had a knee injury.

Milos down 2 sets to love. Could be going home w/ Moya and Mac watching from the stands.

Glad to see Milos exiting. Is there a reason why he cannot keep his tongue inside his mouth?

The quarterfinals are now finally set. There were no upsets in the 4th round matches of today. Of the eight men who were supposed to reach the quarterfinals, only four actually made it there (Novak, Berdych, Stan and Andy). That is a 50% success rate.

Technically speaking Thiem winning against Goffin is an upset as Goffin is higher ranked. However, it was expected by most that Thiem will win.

Anyway, semifinals are now set. Three out of four players who were supposed to reach semifinals actually reached. You know the missing person. I would consider that 75% success rate as pretty good and very typical of ATP.
