Of the top 16 seeds, who were supposed to reach R16, eleven of them made it there, including
all top ten players. That is an excellent conversion ratio of 68.75%. Apparently, this is only the third time in the open era that all the top ten players reached R16.
Here are those who did not live up their seedings: Cilic, Medvedv, Coric, Bailashville and Cecchinato.
Here are those who replaced them: Wawrinka, Struff, Paire, Mayer and Londero
Except for Wawrinka who is seeded #24, all the replacements are unseeded players.
