Herbert beating Norrie is hardly a surprise. Cilic surprised me how easily he dispatched Moutet. He is another guy who is hard to predict in the draws. Now when I don't back him, he'll probably win a few rounds.

Karlovic beating Pospisil looks like an upset to me and so easy in 3 sets. The Doctor Ivo is still going strong and living on the edge of making the main draw entrance for the slams.

Haha so truth. The legend Ivo "div" Karlovic.
It is looking so ridiculous when he handshakes Diego Schwartzman.

I had those two matches right on my bracket so I have concrete evidence that I am not surprised!

I am projecting the following two upsets today. But, there may be more upsets.

1. Nishioka to cause another upset by beating Evans

2. Sinner to oust Fucs.

I am checking last night results, for me, Gherasimov beating Ruud is an upset.
Too bad about Ruud, who had a good run at the ATP Cup, but Gerasimov has had some good results of late, too, off the top of my head.

Time to do upset projections for day 4. I project the following three upsets.

1. Anderson ranked 600 to defeat Fritz.
2. Veteran Verdasco to oust Basilashville.
3. Popyring to show the door for Munar.

I picked both Anderson and Verdasco in my draw. Anderson looked great playing Novak a few weeks ago, after 6 months off. And Verdasco has a history of good matches at the AO. I don't know this fellow Popyrin, but I see he's ranked 96 and Munar 90. Would that be an upset, then?

I knew Berettini was questionable due to injury, but Dimitrov is going back to his 2019 pre US Open self. At least we won't see his pidjama anymore :-)2
I'm just trying to imagine the meeting when anyone, including Dimitrov said that tracksuit was a good idea. It looks like it has a drop flap in the back. OK, once more, for old times' sake:
