Last year she played there, apparently as she got a hefty appearance fee. I doubt she will
do it again unless she gets a hefty appearance fee again. I doubt the tournament organizers
would want to pay huge fees again and again.

OOps I forgot Serena played there last year and won the tournament.Thanks.

They are trying to clean the mess up that they made commenting on serena, but it aint working. That racism is really deep and they threw the black guy in there with the talking points. God how I hate those people.

And they treated her like a queen there. I am sure she's not after the money she has millions it's the way she's treated in these tournaments that prompts her to go back.

I am not yet taking sides on this story. However, as special points out, this seems to
be a damage control operation. The black guy out there makes it obvious, especially
considering that this black guy does not normally form a part of the ESPN commenting
team. I believe, I have seen this black guy somewhere though (may be in CNN),

I've seen him commentating on tennis with those heffers. I know that the Williams camp is pissed at them for insinuating that Serena was on drugs. And I have no idea what the heck they are talking about Serena doing this all the time....What? The girl damn if she does and damn if she does not. Did they make a big deal about vika when she was tumbling all over the court at the AO a couple of years ago...of course not, it was just brushed off that it was too hot and that was it not once did they insinuate that Vika was on drugs. Had this been Maria, it would have been "oh she's probably not feeling well and maybe it's her shoulder that's affecting and that's why she can't see to hit the ball." and that would be the end of the story. Here it is they are making a big deal out of nothing one would think that Serena fell out on the court and was pucking all over the court. She went out to try to play her match even being ill and this is the backlash she's getting...Again, I totally hate, hate those people and no amount of coming back and talking crap is going to clean that mess up that the did. And WTF is Martina N to say that she's not buying that Serena has a virus when did she get her medical degree? She of all people should know better seeing what she went through in the seventies. It is just so annoying and insulting to the Williams family and to me as a black person those white Bs would tarnish Serena's reputation like that. I just can't express how angry I am. And you know what-- it has everything to do with Serena breaking their record. Had it been another white player everything would just fine and dandy....I totally, totally hate their guts. Another lie - claiming Serena was in a tong on the beach. Don't these people do their research before they open their big mouths.

^ Special, I think everyone needs to chill on this. It's Wimbledon, and so there are many talking heads with air time to fill, and Serena is the world #1…they're going to talk about her, and speculate. I agree that Martina made unfortunate insinuations when she said that she didn't think it was illness. And that panel on ESPN, wondering why her camp was all so 'unconcerned' about it. Blah, blah…what does anyone know? The best explanation is that she was suffering from a virus/vertigo/inner-ear thing. We shall see. But to guess anything else is unfair to Serena, and just plain gossip, and folks letting their imaginations run wild.

I forget his name, but he's a writer for Sports Illustrated. And you're right: he's not normally part of the commentating team.
