I think it was caught fairly early. I can think of few people in the world who will get better health care than him. I would guess he survives this. I hear you re: the irony. Somehow I don't think it was a job he was pining for, which is often misunderstood. He was probably more concerned about giving his son a chance of. some relative freedom before the burden falls on him. Fingers crossed he gets through this

Immigration used to mean that folks came from another region and ASSIMILATED into the culture that welcomed them. The rise of Wahhabism in Sunni Islam has been problematic for decades. Dearborn, Michigan no longer resembles USA in many areas--you would think you are in a Muslim country. You stop in a convenience store and men and women are in religious garb and they don't permit beer or wine to be sold in their stores, etc. It is jarring.

I think they have every right to choose what they sell in their stores to be honest. You don't have to shop there. The bigger issue is assimilating different cultures on the scale that is currenly taking place. Again, every Western nation is being flooded with non-Western cultural immigrants on an unprecedented scale. Anyone who things this is "organic" is kidding themselves. It's deliberate. But for what ends? That's the bigger question... and it goes beyond politics.
